How to make the most of natural lashes?

I have had lash extensions in the past but won't do it again. A couple of beauticians have told me that my lashes are quite thick and long so I am thinking that perhaps I should just make the most of them.

How can I enhance natural lashes? I usually just wear mascara but if I make a bit of an effort, I think I can make them look really nice. They don't need tinting.

Eyelash curlers?

lostinthoughts · 14/07/2020 09:35

Try a lash growth serum. Even if they are thick and long already it will make them even thicker and longer. Rapid lash is good and reasonably priced. Then curl and coat with a bit of mascara

A good lash lift really makes them
Stand out

Eyelash curlers and Lancôme Hypnose mascara.

If their already long and thick I’d get them permed but I don’t think that’s available at the moment.

picklemewalnuts · 14/07/2020 14:01

Do you actually spend £40 on a mascara?

GCAcademic · 14/07/2020 14:04

Wow. I used to use Lancôme Hypnose until my eyes became too sensitive. I’m sure it never used to be in that price bracket.

weareyoung · 14/07/2020 14:25

That post above seems to be some Amazon link to the mascara at an over inflated price. Not sure if the poster linked it or if MN turned it into an affiliate link.

Either way, it's normally around £27, not £40!

And yes, if you are happy and able to pay the money then it's absolutely worth it.

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/07/2020 14:25

I won’t buy anything tested on animals so most big brand stuffs out for me.

I use a white Barry m primer before a cheap mua mascara from Superdrug.

Batfinklestein · 14/07/2020 14:29

Definitely a lash lift. I bought a kit from Amazon and have been doing mine myself. It makes such a difference.
Then you can just use any old mascara and they will look great.

Batfink. You did it yourself? I'm impressed. Isn't it a big faff? Did you get someone to help you?

I just use Maybelline Colossal. You can curl the lashes upwards as you apply it. It's brilliant at keeping each lash separate - no clumping, but building them up so they look extra long. I love it. I have long but very pale lashes and the difference is wonderful.

Solaran · 14/07/2020 15:42

Have you tried LVL lashes? Not available at the moment but when salons are able to do treatments on the face, I’d recommend it.

Livingthecovidaloca · 14/07/2020 15:52

I swear by the Lancôme lash primer.
I curl my lashes, then use the primer, then Mascara.
The primer stops my mascara flaking or smudging. I’ve terribly oily eyelids and without the primer I look like a panda by lunchtime.
Plus it gives them an extra length boost.

Chantecaille Longest Lash Faux Cils mascara. It’s both a mascara and a growth serum. It is pricey, but it does work, and it is less pricey than most serums.
