Dressing Table Storage/Layout

For the first time in my 40 years, I have a dressing table. It comes with 2 drawers under the table top and a mirror, but that is it.

As I've never had one before, and my life really is this boring now, I am looking for some inspiration on any storage, layouts etc for your dressing tables.

5 bonus points if you include pictures, but 50 bonus points if you can show me how you store your hairdryer, straighteners, air brushes etc.

I use command hooks on the side of my dressing table that I hang my hairdryer and straighteners on.

No pictures as my dressing table is currently in service as my WFH office desk, but my make-up brushes are in a cream metal flower pot, and I use a couple of Jo Malone candle boxes to store bits that don't fit in the drawers. My hairdryer/straightners live in the bottom of the wardrobe but I like the command hooks idea.

I love having a proper dressing table, didn't have one until my 30s and wouldn't be without it now.

Thanks @Pinkflipflop85, I've ordered those command hooks, fingers crossed they do the job.

@HowFastIsTooFast I like the idea of using other nicer containers to do the job and I have loads of those toys of containers all over the house!

I have a hole in the back of the drawer big enough to pass plugs through, and plug sockets underneath. Hairdryer & straighteners live in the drawer, plugged in. So tidy but also ready to use

I have a drawer deep enough for my hairdryer but if not I would use a basket under the stool under the dressing table. I like them hidden. I have an ornate box with bits n bobs in, a caddy with make up, brushes etc and drawer dividers in the drawers.

I have an IKEA malm dressing table and cutlery inserts inside (maybe stodja? Not sure)

There is about 2 inchs at the back of the drawer which are slightly harder to reach, but still accessible. I put my lesser used stuff at the back, tissues, spare sponges etc.

On top I have a few perplex make up brush holders with all of my brushes

Hairdryer, curling wand and straighteners are all in an IKEA drona box (the pop up ones that fit in a kallax) underneath the table. I tend not to use them that often but I think if I used them daily I would have a different solution

I have the Malm dressing table too @Violetroselily!! I've Mcguyvered cardboard dividers in the drawer for face/eyes/lips etc but might need to get some of those trays! Much neater than mine Smile

They're very handy - you can fit two of the 31x50cm trays side by side, with a small gap in the middle so you're using most of the drawer space Smile
