reuseable deodorant stick

I know we've chatted on here before about how wasteful the antiperspirant stick packaging is. (You know when you give the last twist and it pings over the bathroom smashing on the floor.)

This product with a reusable container and refillable deodorant has just popped up on my feed. Its by wearewild.com - I'd like to try it but...its deodorant and not antiperspirant and it costs a fortune!! Any reviews from happy/unhappy mumsnet users?

I haven't heard of the wearewild one, but I use a one from earth conscious that's a solid deodorant stick in a cardboard tube so kinda similar https://www.earthconscious.co.uk

I find it great, really effective, and I find the vast majority of natural deodorants to be absolutely rubbish. And I'm not one of those lucky people that barely sweat at all and consider deodorant optional unless at the gym... oh no Grin Oddly enough, even though it's not an antiperspirant, I find that I sweat less - I wouldn't have damp patches under my arms or anything like that unless I was exercising. Overall, it's as effectively for me as antiperspirants used to be back in the old days.

@geekamaxima that looks good. Similar price but you can just get one to try.

You might be able to get it with free delivery from somewhere - think the maker's site needs you to buy 3-4 for free delivery.

Worth trying though!

I had one, its not too bad, but becareful when you decided to stop the subscription. I cancelled mine but ended up with 3 more refills.

I’ve just sent you a discount code for we are wild.
I’ve used a few different eco deodorants and none of them have worked. We are wild works for me. I won’t go back. It’s great. I have a friend who it doesn’t work for though. I think a lot of these products need a period of adjustment. This worked for me straight away (and I’m quite sweaty Blush)

If you are sensitive of pit, be careful of anything with bicarbonate of soda in it. Nearly scratched my armpits off following a horrible reaction, but I do struggle with deodorant generally.

Thanks @heidiwine.

@help no not allergic. Thanks.

I use a solid crystal salt one that comes in a cardboard package. You just wet it under water and apply. I can see it will last me ages. Highly recommend as effective. Not scented but keeps me sweat and odour free. And I usually stink without it, so if it works on me it must be really good!

whiteroseredrose · 11/07/2020 22:42

I've had the Wild bergamot one and am very happy with it. No whiffs at the end of the day even during the heat earlier this year. However I'm not a gym goer so I can't advise how ell it would work during exercise.

I've got a PitRok stick - it's in plastic though . But it lasts ages .
I'm menopausal but this really works .

In the Plastic Waste stakes it is very efficient .

Another vote for a crystal deodorant. It's the only thing which keeps me odour-free all day. It doesn't stop you sweating though so that might be a problem for some people. Mine comes packaged in plastic, but it lasts for around two years, maybe even longer so not ideal but better than throwing away plastic packaging every few weeks.

happyjack12 · 12/07/2020 09:37

Immigrantsong which one do you use please?

hashbrownsandwich · 30/07/2022 13:49

I swear by wearewild, I have a code for 50% off if anyone would like to try - it's only £5 including the tin!
