What age did your daughter use a hairdryer?

My DD 9 wants to dry her own hair. My hairdryer is too big & heavy for her so I am thinking about getting her a small light one.
Can anyone recommend anything suitable - what age did others let their dd’s use hairdryer?

My DS's dried their own hair from about 6

I can't remember what age I blow dried my own from but it was definitely before 9...7ish maybe? I'm sure shell be fine but a smaller, more light weight one will probably be easier for her. Having said that I just used the family one and never remember having any issues. I did have quite short hair though so it didn't take long.

Thanks dd’s hair is fairly long & very tangly so it takes ages to dry so I think something light will be better than mine

Both mine (3&8) dry their own hair. 3 year old needs a bit of supervision but does a good job. 8 year old is independent. They just use the family hairdryer but I guess a travel hairdryer might be easier.

My five year old DS likes using my hot air styler to dry his hair.

Can I also make a practical suggestion? Getting to the age she is, if it's too long and tangly for her to maintain herself, it's perhaps time to consider a haircut. Speaking from experience here. My hair is naturally curly and was a PITA to look after myself when I was younger, my mum was crap at doing anything with it other than brushing it in the morning and I frequently ended up with a big tatty matted crow's nest on top of my head. I remember getting it cut when I was ten and I've done it myself ever since.

My eldest DS's hair was to his bum and so thick he had about three peoples worth of hair on his head Grin its now been cut, but is still long. It's just going to take practice to stop it tangling too much.

My youngest likes the babyliss big hair too 😂
