Which clutch bag coach or mulberry?

I would love a mulberry small darley however the price tag is extortionate for me! Would you save up and buy the mulberry or get one of these coach clutches instead at a much cheaper price?

I'm not keen on the chain link spacing or shade of gold in the mulberry. I like the first Coach pic. But maybe see in real life because photos are hard to judge from.

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 11/07/2020 10:59

I do quite like the chain in the 3rd one too though

formerbabe · 11/07/2020 11:00

I like the third one best

id just keep on saving until i get the one i wanted - learnt the hard way! i used to buy bags like the more expensive ones i wanted but they never felt quite right and i ended up buying the expensive bag as well. i agree the darley is a beauty. people always say the quality on mulberry has gone down, yes the leather has changed and the styles have massively increased but the still are in the main designs that will take you a long number of years before they look dated, feel luxury and are more affordable and wearable than eg ysl or gucci in my opinion.

Coach are pretty good quality though. I've got a couple of Coach bags and a Mulberry and tbh, the leather is equally nice.

Or this one which I also like the look of but is Michael kors a bit naff now?!

I’ve bought a few Coach bags because I baulk at the prices of Mulberry and Gucci etc!
I’ve actually been really impressed. They are very nicely made and

Batfinklestein · 11/07/2020 15:39

Dammit! Pressed post too soon by accident!
Was going to say they are wearing well.
They have some great sale bargains.

GinnieHempstock · 11/07/2020 15:41

Does it have to be black? The mulberry in amber is gorgeous and on sale at £446 amber small darley

Lucked · 11/07/2020 15:43

I have a Darley and it is my default bag for when I am dressed up as it is very versatile and now years old and still perfect.

I also have a Aspinal Lottie which I really like because the chain can be doubled so it can be a shoulder or cross body bag

Batfinklestein · 11/07/2020 15:47

I would personally buy Coach over Michael Kors.
I think MK is a bit naff, whereas Coach, to me, is more of a classic brand.
I’m sure someone will be along shortly to disagree with me though! Grin

loobylou10 · 11/07/2020 15:51

Coach are really good quality but I got a cosmetic pouch from Mulberry that I use as a clutch. You can also get an insert for it that gives it a chain. I think I paid about £250 for it and have used it loads.

FredaFox · 11/07/2020 15:51

Michael Kors - no , naff and loads of cheap copues, if this bag is a great and to make you feel special( I know I know but I still get a thrill when I use my Stella McCartney bag)
Coach- my work bag w as a bargain in the sales and is plain and classy, not much of a statement though
Burberry - save for it, you'll regret it in a few mobths, I've done it nyself. You will find less people with the same bag and it's a classic that will stand the test of time

Heyhih3 · 11/07/2020 15:57

I have a Darley Wallet the large one and its fabulous!! Money well spent. The leather has worn well it’s around 2/3 years old.

Out of the pictures I would save for the Darley as long as you would you use it regularly and you wouldn’t be needing to buy a new bag for a long while. I’ve not had anything from Coach.... so I can’t say how the leather is but Mulberry in this range would be hard to beat I reckon!

ambereeree · 11/07/2020 16:57

I've got a few mulberry bags and they are my go to for most occasions. Save up and go for a mulberry.

onwheels · 11/07/2020 17:48

save and get the one you really want.

most mulberry styles are modern classics (a few styles will date really quickly). i have several and they all get used even the 7 years + ones
I wasted so much money getting when i should have just got the one i really wanted.

onwheels · 11/07/2020 17:49

oops, i have already answered

redferrari · 11/07/2020 19:24

I ordered the Coach marlow and sent it back it just didn't look as nice and classy as the pic. Surprising, as I have other coach bags which are quite nice and are of good quality.
