I'm going to a church wedding which will be followed by photos at a local beauty spot.
I have bought this dress:
https://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod1070111000133678+073544011-1

Who knows what the weather will be like so I need a shrug/cardigan/jacket.
I'm normally a very casual dresser (jeans, trainers etc) so I really need some advice on colours and styles please ladies.

Advice on shoes and handbags would also be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance Smile

I like the dress, but I think that the bright red is really hard to coordinate with shoes and a bag for a wedding. The only colour that I can think of that might go is gold, but I don't think it will look very good, sorry OP!

Rebeccasmoonnecklace · 10/07/2020 22:57

You could coordinate with gold like PP suggested or navy, or silver like the model is wearing. A nice shawl/wrap in the same colour as your accessories would pull things together.

HeySeamus · 11/07/2020 00:49

Thank you all for your advice. I never wear anything gold but I think I'll order a few different bits & see how it looks.

Nude wedges could work

Cooltalkin · 11/07/2020 06:27

Pale pink goes great with red
See dress below ( which I have been converting but ridiculously expensive ) I love this colour
Combination though
So what about pink shoes and wrap/ bag , red dress ?
A bit of a softer look than gold , I like gold / silver too but if you feel it’s too blingy ?

Purple looks amazing when paired with red.

Kochicoo · 11/07/2020 11:31

I'd go with a bright pink cardigan (or pale pink as above, whichever looks better) and gold/tan/nude shoes.

I know this photo isn't a cardigan with red dress but just to show that I think bright pink looks good with red.

I was going to suggest navy shoes.

However, these red dresses have either neutral or black shoes.

lots of red dresses

nancybotwinbloom · 11/07/2020 13:03

Nude shoes nude bag

nancybotwinbloom · 11/07/2020 13:04

Not the same dress as yours but the nude looks nice with it looks think.

Nude or gold. Love the dress!

justchecking1 · 11/07/2020 17:26

Either nude or hot pink

Ooh and this (I don’t usually like fat face). It’s out of stock but I have just sent back a 16 and 18 today as was too short for me so may work for your legs! If you keep an eye on website it may come back in stock!

Wrong thread sorry!! Confused

strawberrypip · 11/07/2020 19:30

not sure how anyone could say you cant pair red with anything...possibilities are endless!

depends what kind of vibe you're going for OP. thinking warm tones? mustard yellow and red is amazing. slightly cooler? silver and red is beautiful together. feeling girly? baby/pale pink and red is also beautiful. depends how brave you're feeling OP!

Cam2020 · 11/07/2020 19:47

Pretty dress! I agree with silver, navy or nude/blush.

Craftycorvid · 11/07/2020 19:51

Another vote for silver, nude or navy. I think navy accessories would look really good with this dress.

MoltonSilver · 11/07/2020 19:59

Cobalt would also work.

The dress is lovely. Please wear gold or nude or pink or orange or purple accessories. Do not let anyone tell you that black would be useful after. Personally, I think I would go for bronze or pewter or stone.

PolloDePrimavera · 11/07/2020 20:59

In agreement with all of the above but I think the most subtle but modern look would be hot pink.

PatchworkElmer · 11/07/2020 21:03

I’d go for cobalt blue, personally.
