Sorel boots- comfortable?

Hi all I saw a pair of sorel boots online and am considering ordering them. I've been looking for nice flat waterproof boots.
I've got quite wide feet so want to know how comfortable they are.
Also I know they're not the most stylish boot but are they clumpy?

I've got the red Sorel carnival boots and they've been really comfortable. I've had them for about 3 or 4 years and they've been snuggly in snow and supportive. Didn't find them clumpy at all. My feet aren't the widest but they're probably a bit wider than the norm and I have high arches. Not sure which ones you're looking at but I'm never tested how waterproof mine are. I haven't walked through big puddles in them.

I've also got a pair or the explorer carnival boots in black, they are very comfortable and I think they look good too, waterproof and warm. I'd definitely recommend them.

I have a waterproof pair of sores snow boots. They are super warm and comfortable- worn for only a week or so each year but so worth it!

fitzbilly · 11/07/2020 06:15

Yes!! Amazing boots. I have big wide feet and wear them every day in winter. So warm and waterproof.

I have the Explorer Joan in grey and have the widest feet. They are so comfy. I had to size up for length though.

I have Joan explorer in green and I love them and wear them everyday from September to April. I do have widish feet and they are comfy. Go up 1 size though, length comes up small. I've had them for four years and I think this coming winter might be last winter in them.

Definitely size up. Amazon is a good place to find them, prices fluctuate but there are often great deals. Their own site does a lot of offers and discount codes and each style has lots of reviews which I personally find useful and mostly accurate.

I adore my Sorel boots. I put them straight back on this week as it was a bit colder! So comfy. And I’m always surprised by how waterproof they are.

Thanks all I saw some on sale on net a porter site. Its all US sizes though so guess 7 would be a 9

I have Glacy boots in three different styles. Sooooo comfy. Not even sure they still make them. No traction if it’s icy though. Looking for an alternative for that purpose, maybe with a flat form sole so I’m up off the snow more. (I have circulation issues)

ambereeree · 11/07/2020 12:27

OK I didn't realize they're not good on ice. What boots do you all wear for ice?

That was just the Glacy ones. They have stupid soles. Check out the reviews. I also rate Baffin and Kamik.

fitzbilly · 11/07/2020 17:33

I have the winter carnival boots and they are fine for snow and ice

ambereeree · 12/07/2020 10:41

@fitzbilly thanks they are the ones I was looking at

I have Tivoli II and they are brilliant in snow but lethal on icy pavements. They're like skis. I'm terrified of them, and I've decided to put them in the charity bag. No idea why because looking at the tread, they should be really grippy.

I live in my Glacy short boots. (They look a little Ugg-ish) They are actually the most comfortable boots that I own, and they are my second pair. They’re my dog-walking boots, and schlepping to school & shops boots despite being crap on icy days. (Where I live it’s never a problem!)
