How would you describe the fragrance? And what's the difference between Parfum Bottle

www.boots.com/chanel/chanel-ladies-fragrances/chanel-coco-mademoiselle/chanel-coco-mademoiselle-parfum-bottle-7-5ml-10042092

and
Eau de parfume spray?

Is it day fragrance?

I love it but it's a bit strong for me for daytime.

SauvignonBlanketyBlank · 10/07/2020 08:15

Its a expensive smelling powdery floral its hard to describe. Its a classic and my favourite Chanel.

Historya · 10/07/2020 08:21

I will try it next time I go to Boots. Mhm, I don't really go out much so if it's no good for daytime, it's probably not for me.

I often wear it during the day after being gifted a 100ml bottle. I don't go out much in the evening but I sure as hell aren't letting it go to waste.

Whitney168 · 10/07/2020 08:23

The parfum bottle will be extremely concentrated and TINY, no spray - just dab.

The eau de parfum will be a bigger spray bottle, but still more concentrated and longer-lasting than eau de toilette.

Historya · 10/07/2020 08:30

no spray - just dab
How do you best dab it without wasting anything?

Personally I don't like it. It's too strong for me. It's too "spicy" rather than fresh or floral. Definitely a night time fragrance.
Perfume is such a personal choice, some on here will love it, and some like me, will hate it.

SpeckledyHen · 10/07/2020 08:49

I love it and get lots of compliments - I like the spray eau
de perfume .

Sexnotgender · 10/07/2020 08:51

It’s the only perfume I wear. Wear it day or night and get loads of compliments on it.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 10/07/2020 08:57

I love it. It's the only fragrance I wear. Hard to describe though.
Parfum is stronger.
I use the moisture mist for daily wear, not as strong and a bit fresher smelling.

Historya · 10/07/2020 10:28

I am tempted to just order it online, not the perfume but maybe the small eau de perfume. How likely is it that I will like it? I'm WFH and am trying to keeping going to the shops to a minimum. Somehow going into Boots and trying it out fills me with apprehension Blush.

Maybe try the Lidl dupe 'Suddenly Madame Glamour' first? It's really close to the original and will help you decide whether it's worth investing!

I love it so much that I got the Chanel for Christmas a few years ago.

Blueuggboots · 10/07/2020 10:53

It's a lovely smell but very strong and lingers for hours.
I couldn't wear it myself, it would give me a migraine.

mrsrhodgilbert · 10/07/2020 14:56

It’s my favourite too although I wouldn’t describe it as powdery at all. I don’t think it’s too strong for daytime. It it is very noticeable though. I like Coco in the black bottle for evenings and I do think that is too strong for daytime. I’m always a little surprised to smell it on a morning supermarket run for example.

OkPedro · 10/07/2020 15:13

I wore it during the day for about 5 years. I got lots of compliments and never found it too strong.

However I got a bottle for Christmas and it smells different, I didn’t like it at all..I was so disappointed

Flymetothetoon · 10/07/2020 17:28

It's my favourite 'going out' fragrance but as there hasn't been any going out recently I've had the occasional spritz when I'm off to Morrisons

tribpot · 10/07/2020 17:31

It's the only one I wear, even though the name makes me laugh. At 48 I think 'Mademoiselle' is pushing it a bit. Always get compliments on it, wear it in the day time.

Rugbycomet · 10/07/2020 17:37

I love it but I’ve discovered that if you buy a perfume called Suddenly from Aldi, , it’s basically the same BUT around £4/5 a bottle.

lindyloo57 · 10/07/2020 18:37

I love the coco and I love the No5 I have both.

Darkestseasonofall · 10/07/2020 18:46

It's my favourite perfume, it smells like a "glamorous old hooker" according to DP, but in a good way.
It's quite in your face, so if you'd usually wear Elizabeth Arden or suchlike it's maybe a jump. YY to pp saying the Lidl knockoff is grand, I use that as a top up just after work or something somedays

seven201 · 10/07/2020 19:05

I love it but I'm nearly out. I want to buy a new bottle but it's not cheap! I'm going to have a hunt for a discount code

vixxo · 10/07/2020 19:14

It's nice but not mind blowing, plus literally everyone wears it so not very special.

bronzedgodesswannabe · 10/07/2020 19:22

I adore it
But I think it does smell different on different people because my midwife used to always smell amazing
I asked her and it was coco mam
Which is what I wear but smelt completely different

dgirluk · 10/07/2020 20:29

@darkestseasonofall my DH loves it - if I wear it, it's like a moth to a flame, maybe it's because I smell like an ageing hooker :D :D

It's a lovely scent - for me it's an evening/going out/date night but I keep meaning to try it for general day time. However due to the effect on DH I am a bit limited !

SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito · 10/07/2020 20:38

I love it. I wore it on my wedding day Smile I think it's fine for the day as it's quite sweet, nowhere near as strong as Chanel no. 5.

Mines run out and I can't really afford another bottle, very tempted by the Aldi / Lidl one mentioned on here!
