Recommend Eye Shadow for 45+ yr olds

I've just applied my eye shadow for the first time in ages (after watching an online makeup tutorial for the over 50s!) and it is accentuating the creases on my eyelids big time. So I'm guessing I need to ditch shimmer powder and go for a cream with a matt finish? Gonna stick with fairly neutrals colours. Have you any recommendations please? Txs.

I thought that matte would be the way to go but it actually drew more attention to my wrinkly bits. I really like the almost liquidy ones you sweep on - Glossier lidstar is a current favourite.

@MaliceOrgan Thanks! I hadn't heard of that brand and have just googled it. Might give it a try.

I like the elf cream eyeshadow sticks, they are also very affordable so cheap to try.

Laura Mercier or Bobbi Brown cream eyeshadow sticks are brilliant. I'm 58 and use them all the time. Flattering, easy and no creasing.

Thank you for all the recommendations. I am going to check them all out.

I forgot that my skin can be sensitive and my eyes are itchy now. Definitely time for an upgrade.
