Purple Shampoo

I've got mid brown hair (dyed). During lockdown I haven't touched it with any colour and it's really lightened to a light brown with gingery blonde streaks. I actually quite like this Smile but would like to lose some of the more orangey bits!

Would purple shampoo work on me to lighten or lose the orange on these bits? Or is purple shampoo strictly for coloured blondes?

Thanks!

I'm brunette and blue shampoo is better for dark hair, purple works better for blondes.

I use the Charles Worthington from boots. Use gloves and a dark towel, definitely not your best white towels! I leave it on for a minute or 2 if I can. Also I mix it with conditioner and leave it for 20 mins every so often. It definitely keeps the orange tinge at bay.

Purple is for yellow tones. Blue is better for orangey tones.
