Jeans recommendations?

Looking for fairly high waisted straight (not skinny) jeans which will work with a small waist and curvy back and hips. Size 10 usually and in current jeans (though lockdown weight gain, so not sure now). Urgently needed as both current pairs have holes!

I like dark denim or black, no embellishments, no rips. Crucial thing is to be able to move in them without builders bum or looking like they’re glued to me. I have no style and wear them with plain T-shirts and trainers - I’m going for not looking awful rather than any fashion statement! Any recommendations?

try fatface x

I like my boden jeans, skinny isn’t particularly skinny in them. I have their skinny and super skinny versions and like both.

I have similar shape and I like Joe’s jeans (bought from TK Maxx)

Ooh, lots of places I hadn’t thought of (I usually go to Uniqlo, but I’ve lost patience with their awful website). I’ll have a proper look once I’ve fed the kids.

Next I know! slim jeans come in mid and high waist. Dead comfy, decent price. I have dark ones pale ones and gray ones 😊

The next relaxed skinny are surprisingly nice too actually

J Brand have a few good styles, and so does Citizen of Humanity, expensive but they last for years

I have just fiund Levis 724’s. They are high waist and a slim straight fit.

Pre kids I always bought Topshop but now with lots of bending over I prefer Next as they have a higher cut waist.

Sorry don't know what happened there!!!

I have a similar shape - small waist and relatively curvy bum/hips and I tried on loads recently (massive online order to try in at home!). The best fit for my shape were Citizens of Humanity, J Brand and Slvrlake. I kept three pairs of jeans in the end, one from each brand, all straight leg and higher waisted but different colours.

Dorothy perkins are the only Jean's that fit me, look nice and are comfortable.
Never shopped at DP until about a year ago. They're really cheap too.
Also curvy with small waist.

After lockdown, I’ll try on some of the more expensive brands (Citizens of Humanity looked good but for that price I don’t want to buy lots of pairs to try on and send back), but for now I’ve ordered some Next ones as I like the idea of a higher cut waist.

The Next enhancer slim jeans were perfect - disappointingly they only seem to come in dark blue, I’d have bought at least another pair and possibly two if they came in other colours.

The Next lift, slim and shape slim jeans were skinnier than the enhancer slim ones - too figure-hugging for me, I don’t like the skinny look. But they did both have decen waists with no gaping.

Jeans are so difficult! And I hate the way the bum pockets come quite far down - I'm sure if they were higher up then I'd look as though my bum were perkier!

Anyway, I haven't tried Next jeans for a long time, to be honest, nor TopShop. However, I'm currently wearing an excellent pair from Fat Face. I also have a lovely pair from Uniqlo, who are great at high-waisted, as are The White Company (though considerably more £££!)

GlassHouseYouGlassHouse · 10/07/2020 16:03

Thanks for reporting back, I'm after pretty much the same holy grail jeans.

ThroughThoroughThoughTough · 10/07/2020 16:38

I have lovely Uniqlo jeans, and would go for those again, but their website is such a pain I didn’t want to battle with it. I love that they take them up for free, too.

I will definitely go and try the more expensive ones, though, when public transport is open for non essential journeys.
