Will a long bob work on my hair?

Finally got an appt for next week - cut and full head of highlights. I've been wanting to go shorter for a while as now I'm in my early 40s my long curly hair is starting to look scruffy/aging hippy-like! I'm ok to straighten it once or twice a week and I need to be able to wear it up so a bob won't work (plus I'm too nervous to go that short!). I'm going to go more blonde this time (not platinum just varied blonde highlights). Anyway here is a pic of me (I'm not naked by the way just wearing a strapless dress Grin ). My hair is naturally curly but not tight curls (sadly!).

A long bob would be lovely! And would compliment your face shape.

nevergoingoutagain · 06/07/2020 19:31

It would probably end up curlier. I think it would look good.

Or maybe like this ?

I love this hairstyle!

That's lovely @morriseysquif but too scarey short for me! Grin

Yes it would definitely be curlier when shorter but I think I would straighten it more as it would take so much less time! I love my curls but never feel sleek and stylish with them and would like to sometimes.

I think it would look lovely. Your curls are fab.

InOmniaParatus42 · 06/07/2020 20:19

Your curls are amazing! Wish mine looked like this Envy
Having said that, a long bob would also suit your face.

MKmummy123 · 06/07/2020 20:22

Your hair is so beautiful - I wouldn’t cut it.
Sorry, probably not helpful! 😂

Polkadotpjs · 06/07/2020 20:31

Your curls are what I spend ages trying and failing to achieve! Lovely. A long bob might help you feel smarter but it's gorgeous as it is, honestly

PawPatrolMakesMeDrink · 06/07/2020 20:35

I have a long bob and hair which is wavy, but less than yours. Straightening really dries my hair out so I use a babylis big hair to dry and style it without causing too much damage. I say go for it!

feelingfragile · 06/07/2020 20:36

Don't cut your hair because of your age. Also embrace your curls whatever age you are!

LadyPrigsbottom · 06/07/2020 20:39

I wouldn't cut that lovely hair and I love short cuts! Definitely not ageing hippy!

bestbrowsintown · 06/07/2020 20:52

Your curls are lovely. I think a long bob would take some extra weight off your hair and let your curls spring up a bit more which would only be a good thing.

BeNiceToYourSister · 06/07/2020 21:14

Another unhelpful comment I’m afraid OP: don’t cut it! It’s not ageing or scruffy at all. In fact I’d kill for hair like that [sigh]

NotVera · 06/07/2020 21:57

It's very pretty hair, I feel it needs a little something more, just a bit of better cut, to make the most of it. But definitely don't cut off a lot. Enhancement rather than drastic change.

parentofteen · 06/07/2020 22:31

Your hair is beautiful and definitely not at all aging hippy! People spend hours faffing with curling implements to get curls like those. Don't cut it Shock
