Hi, I have a hair appointment on Tuesday which of course I'm pretty excited about. I have very grey roots which under normal circumstances I have coloured every 6 weeks. My hair will generally only look 'nice' however for about the first 3 of these... so, having now got kind of used to the roots coming through, whilst I don't particularly like them I feel that its a losing battle trying to cover them up and wondering if their is an in-between option that will kind of blend them in so they are not so obvious when the colour grows out.
I know my hairdresser will think its a terrible idea and will try persuade me to do the usual so I want to go armed with a plan!
Any ideas gratefully received. Thanks.

I had mine dyed blonde and it looked fine growing out. My natural hair has turned out to be full of different colours including silver and it's really pretty. It took 18 months to fully transition, but so worth it.

I have the same issue. I know my hairdresser will want me to go with the usual base colour plus highlights. I don't like the grey roots but have recently seen some women with spectacular grey hair ( I'm thinking particularly Caryn Franklin) and it has inspired me to persevere.
So, my plan is to grow the grey out, see what im working with and perhaps go for some platinum blonde, silvery highlights.
There are so many women with this issue right now, any hairdresser who could come up with a 'grey' colour plan would make a killing, just saying Smile

Find JoeJoneshair on Instagram, she will give you a one to one paid consultation and let you know exactly what you can/can't do. She's awesome

I've been dyeing my hair for the last 20 years, but decided to stop colouring during lockdown.

There's a good Facebook group called Silver Revolution, some are going cold turkey, some are having ends dyed to match regrowth, some are having a buzz cut. It might help you to get an idea of what options you have.

Myself, I've decided to grow mine out, trying to grow it long at the same time, it's collarbone length at the moment. No dye since February. I'm interested to see what's coming through, around 40% white on naturally dark hair. But then I don't care what people think, I'm going to brazen it out.
