Skechers go walk sizing

I'm on the hunt for comfortable footwear for work and Skechers keep popping up. Are they true to size/comfortable? Do they wear well?

I have a short walk to and from work and will be wearing them with skinny jeans. They need to be comfortable and not too ugly. I'm so out the loop after having to wear protective boots for years.

I have wide feet and a high instep and I can't get them on. (Even the wide version)

Not sure if that helps, sorry 😂😂😂

Cally70 · 05/07/2020 17:10

I find them true to size and mine have worn well

chipsandpeas · 05/07/2020 17:10

i have a few pairs and find them true to size

RaiseTheVibe · 05/07/2020 17:10

I have wide feet and find them true to size, I'm a size 3 and they're the most comfortable footwear I own.

ZaZathecat · 05/07/2020 17:13

I find them on the large side lengthwise.

EmmaC78 · 05/07/2020 17:21

I find them true to size and really comfortable.

Chesterfuckingdrorrs · 05/07/2020 17:22

@ZaZathecat I'd read they were quite long. Wondering if I should go 1/2 a size down. Decision decisions.....

I have a pair. The sizing is accurate; I'm a true size 5, but they kill my feet for days after every time I've tried to wear them, even for a short walk. They're not the Holy Grail of comfortable shoes that some make them out to be. They'll be going to the charity shop soon.

ZaZathecat · 05/07/2020 17:25

I would Chester, I'm usually a big 8, but theirs is a bit loose on me.

FedUpAtHomeTroels · 05/07/2020 17:32

I went down a size with the go walks and they fit well.

mollokoy · 05/07/2020 17:36

I have 6.5 wide feet and go down to 6 in Skechers, but don't need the wide version. But I guess it's more that I'm usually wearing slightly too long shoes to get my wide feet into them!

I could also get 5.5 on which is pretty weird I think. Definitely don't measure 5.5.

Chesterfuckingdrorrs · 05/07/2020 17:48

@Twenty2 not good! My feet are a nightmare and hurt/get blisters at any slight thing I'm not on my feet a lot when I'm at work so it's just mainly the walk to and from work.

I'll keep that in mind @ZaZathecat

I usually wear 9s and am an 8 in Skechers. My feet are quite wide at the toes but narrow elsewhere. The pair of Skechers I have are very soft, like slippers, but have absolutely no arch support. I therefore would not walk around in them all day.

Twenty2 · 06/07/2020 19:09

I think that was the problem for me acocadochocolate. I have rather flat feet and need, soft, but supportive shoes.

BarbarAnna · 06/07/2020 19:14

I put Skechers on a few years ago and haven’t worn any other type of shoe since! Not the Go Walk though but various other styles with laces etc. I have mega wide feet and I find them a little big. The fit does very massively so I would try them on if you can or be prepared to order some and return them until you get the right fit.

IAintentDead · 06/07/2020 19:26

Lengthwise I am a 7 in UK sizing but I mostly have to go up to an 8 for the width. There is also the conversion from continental sizing to take into account. Size 41 allegedly converts to size 7 in men's sizes and 8 in women's. I don't agree - to me - a continental 41 is a UK 7.

In Skechers I don't need to go to size 8, the 7 fits very well. I am also flat footed and there is just enough support in them to not be uncomfortable.

I love my Sketchers, have several pairs in difffent colours. Soooo comfortable. I’m a 6 and I find the are ever so slightly tight when you first get them because of the memory foam, but as soon as your feet settle into them after a couple of wears they are as comfortable as a anything.

Scruffyoak · 06/07/2020 22:46

I always go down a size.

shinynewapple2020 · 06/07/2020 22:56

I've found that the fit varies, some of the shoes are a wider fit than others and I have a pair in a size 5 and another size 6. I also think, from trying them on that some stuff to les are more comfy for me than others. That said , they are the most comfy footwear I've found and I live in mine.

Maverick66 · 06/07/2020 23:15

True to size but I find they sweat my feet.

msgloria · 06/07/2020 23:49

I'd recommend having a look at fitflop rally trainers too - very comfortable and light on feet like Skechers, but a slightly cleaner look.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 06/07/2020 23:57

I’m usually a size 5.5 but am a size 4 in Sketchers. They are ridiculously comfortable.

Holothane · 06/07/2020 23:59

I have a size five and love them mine are slip on I’ve had for nearly two years, want a black pair for the winter.

raeray · 07/07/2020 02:31

I loved my sketchers but have found they seem to have made them differently in the last couple of years and I now don't find them quite as comfortable.
Wish they'd change them back!
