Stripping colour from hair- advice please!

Hello.
I've got naturally medium brown hair with a lot of grey. (I'm 48)

I've been dying it medium auburn / mahogany for decades ( however, it always turns out darker).

I really want to go lighter now. A mid copper sort of thing.

What is the best way to remove the dye from the darker ends?
I don't need to completely lighten it.
I've read about vitamin c tablets and head and shoulders and wrapping it in cling film.

Any advice gratefully received.
Thank you!

I used colour B4 which stripped all the dye but be warned that because most dyes contain hydrogen peroxide your stripped hair will likely still have a reddish tint. You also have to leave it at least a week before re-dying. I had been using a medium brown shade which I stripped then went to a dark blonde shade. It worked well.

Hi thank you Minnie.
I don't mind about the red remaining, I just want to get it a few shades lighter.
How was the condition of your hair afterwards?

I used a stripper at the beginning of lockdown - Scott Cornwall’s one. It’s a combination of a colour remover and a bleach bath, so you can colour straight over it. It did leave my hair dry, so I used a lot of masks afterwards. I absolutely can’t wait to get it chopped now. The colour was pretty warm even after I coloured over it, but it was generally okay.

The Jo Baz colour remover in the red box is brilliant. I used it to take my hair from dark red back to a blonde colour (lightened previously, not natural) then dyed it copper the same day.

Smells awful but works great and doesn't cause any damaged.

Found the photos. This was mine, stripped it from the red to blonde and dyed it copper the same day - the day before I was a bridesmaid so I was rather panicked but it worked great.

I didn't have any trouble with the condition although I think I used a deep conditioner after stripping it.

I've used the VitC and a Superdrug Dandruff shampoo
Once to get out a S/P mahogany that was purple and didn't fade

Again a couple of months ago to try and lift my colour on my ends .
I've got mid brown hair just past my shoulders . Used S/P dye until about Feb so I have a regrowth of grey

My only way forward is to cut a good 3" off the bottom so its on my shoulders , still able to tie back and I can lose the ends (which are a bit dry but it's more to do with the length and my age than the dye/Vit C )

I haven't booked any hair appointments yet , going to wait a while
