Best eyeliner for tight lining?

So I've been advised by a MUA that I need to always tight line my eyes / line under the lash line, rather than above the lash line.

I'm happy doing this, and think it does suit me, but whatever I use runs and smudges into panda eyes super quickly.

Is there any magic eyeliner that is made specifically for this, and doesn't smudge?

Basically not in my experience- as it's always on the wet bit!
Does she mean the top half only? Have you tried above the last line with liquid eyeliner?

Urban decay 24/7 does well for me, and I line my upper waterline every day

Maybelline tattoo liner is surprisingly great, and I have tried many fancy brands.

Laura Mercier and the real secret is in the brush - I use a Mac 212.

Another vote for Laura Mercier tightener. I'm on my third and each one has lasted a couple of years.

Sometimes I use a Laura Mercier eyeshadow instead. I aim to fill the gaps between the lashes rather than drawing a line underneath them as, for me, that's when the smudges happen.

Every pencil I tried has smudged.

I use any old liquid liner, currently using Collection 2000, which is cheap as chips. If I tightline, I go as close to the lash line from the underneath. I sometimes put an ordinary pencil on my upper waterline and a very fine liquid liner over the top of the lashes. I tightline every day.

The Laura Mercier one gives me panda eyes. I have better luck with gel formulations, withe in a pot or pencil form.

The best for me is Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner, used with a square flat ended brush. Long lasting and no smudging all day.

Hourglass gel liner. Applied above the lashing not from underneath it. Does not budge. Wore it for a funeral. No smudging
