Birkenstock sizing

As it looks like I’ll be working at home for the foreseeable future, i want some sandals to be able to keep by the door to slip on an off quickly when I pop out. I’ve got some John Lewis vouchers, so thought I might treat myself to some Birkenstocks, are they actually decent quality? What is the sizing like? I’m a size 5 almost everywhere so that’s what I’d normally go for. Just wanted to check as i can’t easily try them on

They do two widths. I think it's narrow and regular, which is really regular and wide.

I have two pairs and I can't remember what size they are but I am pretty certain that I went down a size.
I wouldn't want to wear mine to walk around all day in, and I don't recommend wearing backless shoes for driving, but they are useful.

Yes, they are decent quality. I have Arizona and Madrid.

They are quite old though, had them years, so the quality might have changed, and I can't see what size they actually are, and one pair is shorter than the other pair.
My shoes vary in size from 4 to 5.5, depending on the shoe.

Sorry if I am no help.

Definitely go down a size.

For me they are generally true to size unless you have very narrow feet. Just make sure you get a pair with the new soft footbed - so much more comfortable than the original sole and no breaking in needed like the original sole

I practically live in Birkenstocks Madrid. Great quality. I have bought a replica pair before and it was no where near as comfortable.

I have had the normal corkbed ones and the synthetic ones for beach/swimming pool, and both are great - synthetic ones are really light (wearing them now).

I have always found them true to size, but I know others say go down a size.

Love mine! True to size and I have narrow feet but still fit the standard width, so I think you would need to have very narrow feet for the narrow width. I do have to punch an extra hole in the straps though. If I remember correctly they have a useful sizing guide on their website where you draw around your foot and measure it...
