Plain black school coat

For DD's last school coat we resorted to unbeknown to DD a boys coat as I could not find a plain black coat that didn't have a trim around the hood (not allowed). Can anyone recommend a plain black girls coat, age 13-14 please? Absolutely no markings or trims. Flowers

Uniqlo do a plain black puffer jacket, which I am thinking of getting for my daughter.

You could try uniform shops - some private schools have plain black coats as part of their uniform, or an outdoors shop - you might be able to get a fleece lined waterproof coat (regatta/Peter storm type thing) in black in a small women's size.

thanks *fofo4 found a black one very similar to her existing coat, plus got a £10 discount code! I think she'd prefer a more feminine coat though, and they are all navy Sad

H&M do a rather nice parka if she’d fit a women’s XS, or John Lewis have a dull but practical unisex 3 in 1. I find H&M unbeatable for choice for coats for teenager girls.
Photos from apps, so can’t link sorry.

Actually I'd argue with the school on safety grounds that reflective piping or trim should be allowed.

Very difficult to see people in dark clothing while driving in the wet. As much as you'd think teens should be watching for cars accidents and relapses in concentration do happen.

However a lot of parker's have removable fur on the hood.

I didn’t know about removable fur - that definitely open things up! Thank you!

Highway Code Pedestrian Rule 3.
Help others to see you.

There was a fire brigade picture that circulated on FB last winter but I can't find it. They showed a little girl in daylight but in a dull rainy day in a pink coat really easy to see. They also showed a photo of her in dark coat in exactly the same place and she just blends into the surroundings to the point you had really study the picture to see her.

IME about 3/4 of coats with fur trim hoods have the option to remove it so definitely don’t rule them out until you’ve checked.
