10- year old with a fashion crisis!

10-year old DD can’t find anything she wants to wear - she wants bright (possibly neon) t-shirts, camo design but not green, and funky hoodies.

Where can shop online that’s a bit different to the usual H&M and Next offerings?

Select fashion have a teen range online that my DD10 quite likes along with river island

I didn’t know River Island have a kids range - I’ll have a look.

I’ve never heard of select fashion - off to google them

Thank you x

I know she's 10 but sites like boohoo and ASOS often do brightly-coloured t-shirts and hoodies and things, she might be able to get away with some of their smaller sizes?

MrsHaroldRobbins · 03/07/2020 18:29

Shein is very popular with girls of that age group.

23trains · 03/07/2020 18:59

Is Shein a bit dodgy? I often see things on their ads I think the kids will like (also have a teen girl) but have never ordered anything.

Yes shein is dodgy - cheap crap that's itchy and badly made.

And, it's from China - so at least some items are made it sweatshops

ihearttc · 03/07/2020 19:41

Shein is no more dodgy than primark. Ive been really impressed with both their clothes and their order tracking, it tells you exactly where your parcel is at any one time. I had to send 1 thing back (I ordered 8 things) and the refund took less time than Next and M&S did. I've just placed another order.

Have you looked at Scamp and Dude? They have some amazing t-shirts, hoodies and jumpers in bright funky colours. They are super soft, too! I honestly can’t get enough of their stuff. Got some jumpers for my teen daughter too - for once she doesn’t mind a bit of (really bright) pink strangely enough. I’m currently eyeing the camp jumper. Plenty of kids styles on sale too.
Also, maybe Superdry? I saw some neon things on the website recently

*camo print jumper

My thoughts on Shein - I try to educate my daughter about fast fashion and its adverse environmental and human impact, so I’d rather buy her 3-4 good quality items rather than a box of poorly made garments that travelled halfway across the world only to be worn a handful of times. Better quality clothes can always be passed on to friends and family or resold on eBay once outgrown too
