Disastrous prom dress fitting

Went to a small prom/wedding dress boutique in Feb for my daughters prom dress fitting, found a dress she liked, very fitted and went for it, they only had the stock one so we had to order one in which they done, was due in within a month. And then the whole coronavirus thing kicked off, her prom, which was supposed to be last week is now postponed until Christmas. Went to collect dress today, she tried it on in the shop and the lady zipped it up for her behind the curtain, she came out and it looked fine, however tried it on when she got home and I just couldn’t get the zip up, at all. Goodness knows how they done it in the shop, daughter said the dress felt ok once zipped up. What’s the chance I’ll be able to exchange it, Ive emailed and awaiting a reply. I appreciate
she may have put a little weight on but can’t imagine she would have put that much on, certainly not obvious and she still fits in the same size clothes, obviously don’t want to encourage her to diet, have I just wasted £250.

Could there be fabric jamming the zip?

Sounds like a mix up. She can't have changed size from trying on earlier to coming home tonight.

Wait and see what they say.

Worst case take her back in to,or row and show them the issue.
