Boob or Bust vs Bravissimo - confused!

I have been wearing a 36H from Bravissimo for about a year, after they suggested my 34 FF was too small. I’m still breastfeeding at 2.5 years (I know...). I’ve lost weight in the past year and feel the 36H is now definitely too big.

Today I did the Boob or Bust calculator and got 30HH. I am really confused. Could this be right? Could Bravissimo have been getting it wrong? That wrong?!

If you’ve lost weight in the last year it stands to reason the bravissimo measurement would no longer be right.

If you measure 30 under your bust then that is your back measurement. If you have lost weight then of course your bra size will change

Sorry, I know I sound a bit dense re: weight loss but what’s confusing me is that if anything I’m just back to my pre-baby size, at which point Bravissimo had me as a 34FF. I guess I might as well order the different size and send it back if necessary.

34FF has same cup volume as 32G and 30GG. 30HH is 2 cup sizes larger than that. Boob or bust can sometimes give a cup slightly too big. What is big about your current bra - back, cup or both?

AgentCooper · 02/07/2020 21:13

@dementedpixie definitely the cup. It feels like my (now rather saggy) boobs are just pooling in the bottom with loads of empty space around them, especially at the top.

36H sister sizes are 34HH, 32J, 30JJ so the new bra size (30HH) does have a smaller cup than your existing 36H

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/07/2020 07:48

What are your measurements?.

StarlightLady · 03/07/2020 09:53

If you are still breastfeeding, l would suggest that sizing is likely to be inconsistent.

I find the Boob or Bust method results in a terribly tight and uncomfortable bra band that leaves ugly red welts in it’s wake, whilst my breasts rattle around in baggy cups.

Clarabellawilliamson · 03/07/2020 15:36

I found that when I was stopping breastfeeding and going back to normal bras, although my measurements were saying one size, it just didn't fit when I put it on. I had lost all fullness at the top of the breast so cups didn't sit right. I had to try on lots and lots of different styles till I found one that was right. I was sad that the Freya deco- always my go to previously now didn't work for me any more! Just to say that a few months down the line, I am starting to get that fullness back (although that might be lock down weight gain! Grin)

lindyloo57 · 03/07/2020 18:56

Zazierose, me too the band is so tight I can barely do it up, someone on here say it's the cup, but the cup seems a bit big. I wear a 34 D to DD and measure 31 under boob 38 over

dementedpixie · 03/07/2020 19:00

I would put you at around 30F/32E with those measurements (32E is a sister size of 34DD I.e. same cup volume on different back sizes)
