Hair dye query

Dyed my hair and it's too dark. I've an appointment in August but is it worth trying to strip the colour at all or is there a shampoo that will help fade it down.

It's a Josh Wood colour. I usually get an Aveda root cover in the salon.

It will fade with washing

dementedpixie · 30/06/2020 16:57

what colour did you want? What colour did you use?

Wash it in a cheap shampoo or something abrasive like Head & Shoulders. Both known for stripping colour.

I just wanted to cover grey roots. I used a 5.0 with a colour shot.

I wash it every day so am hoping it will fade so the repair job from the hairdresser isn't too hard.

Was it a smoky colour shot? They run dark.

hopeishere · 30/06/2020 17:06

No I don't think so!

Use some olive oil, cover with a shower cap, let sit then wash. It draws out the colour, and your hair will be conditioned as well.
