Rash/spots suddenly appeared on face

I have awoken this morning to a large number of small red lumps on my jaw line next to either side of my mouth. It had started to come up yesterday evening, so I have taken some antihistamines.
I have a spot about once a year. I have what looks like a gnat/other insect bite on my nose and some on my neck. It feels sore and hot if that makes sense.
I have taken some more meds and placed lots of make up over, but you can still see the lumps.
Has anyone had any experience/ideas of this? Would acne start like this? I am mid 40's?

Spots in that area are usually hormonal OP and given your age I'd bet that's what it is. I sometimes get spots in that area too when my period is due. Going on HRT helps a lot.

can you post a pic? Google perioral dermatitis which will need treatment with ABs (cream or of that fails oral medication). Mine started suddenly over a few days like that. but difficult to say without pic.

This is with make up on. It feels hot still?
