Advice on colour

Hi, I have been having highlights for near on 30 years, sometimes with bleach. That combined with regular straightening has literally ruined my hair. It just doesn't grow and snaps at the front, forming a sweeping fringe I didn't ask for! It's like witches hair - just frizzy and no amount of special conditioning treatments do anything. I've stopped straightening it for a few months now, but it's just awful. What are my alternatives to bleach? I'm actually thinking of going back to my natural colour (whatever that might be!!) but I've been blonde for so long that I'm genuinely worried that I will hate it! But do you think that would help?
Can anyone advise please?

I have very frizzy hair, even without highlights.

I have some highlights and also grey.
Obvs the highlights are growing out as I haven’t tried to do them myself in lockdown.

But I have discovered a fantastic dye for the roots. And put some “clear Gloss “ on the rest of my hair which is amazing stuff. Makes everything so shiny. Highly recommend.

Can I say the product name? It’s a German brand . You can get it online. Called Elumen.

I don’t think I’ll go to hairdressers for root touch up ever again. (I have allergies and sensitive skin so I searched specifically for products that don’t have the preservative I’m allergic to. Meta/sodium bisulphate).

I also started using an oil on my hair. Marula Oil. Pretty good. Very cheap and that ordinary brand do a version.
