Is this dress too loose or okay?

The dress is:
www.johnlewis.com/kin-rie-takeda-sleeveless-wrap-dress-blue/p5001326

And it looks like this on me. Apologies for the crap photo, I’m rubbish at them. I want to wear it with some cork flatforms that I can’t find at the moment but whilst I want a loose look I don’t want to look like a dorkGrin

Thanks!

looks a bit big

Timeforabiscuit · 28/06/2020 17:08

Too loose! I know you have a figure under there somewhere!!!!!

It's the cut of the dress that's the problem I think, if you had a different style (linen midi dress) then the loose fit would be fine.

NotFrozen · 28/06/2020 17:08

It looks too big on you

LoeliaPonsonby · 28/06/2020 17:09

Rats, I thought so :( It’s beautifully made and lovely fabric, but no smaller size so back it goes.

That's a real shame, it looks like a lovely dress, I would pay to have it altered.

Timeforabiscuit · 28/06/2020 17:14

I say that as someone who struggles to find lovely things, and some dresses are worth going the extra mile for :)

Oblomov20 · 28/06/2020 17:21

Yes, sorry, too big.

LoeliaPonsonby · 28/06/2020 17:26

Good point re:alterations, Biscuit. Wonder if my usual place is open yet?

Redroses05 · 28/06/2020 17:27

Definitely too big at the bottom.

beaverbill · 28/06/2020 17:29

The shoes are far too casual for it too. Sorry

GravityFalls · 28/06/2020 17:30

Too loose, unfortunately.

I don’t know if it’s just the way my body is but this is how EVERY Cos dress looks on me, not matter what size. I’m not tiny but I always look like I could take three steps in it before I even got to the edge of the dress!

MoltonSilver · 28/06/2020 17:32

It does look a bit loose but I think maybe its meant to be like that.

Poppyismyfavourite · 28/06/2020 17:50

I don't think it's a very flattering shape sorry - bit sack-like!

AnyFucker · 28/06/2020 17:53

Too big for you

LoeliaPonsonby · 28/06/2020 18:47

Unanimous thenGrin

Gravity YES! I want the nice loose wafty look, not Big Top with all the tent pegs taken out.

OP posts:
Dozer · 28/06/2020 18:48

Yes, way too big. Send back.

Deathraystare · 30/06/2020 14:04

If it could be made a bit smaller that would be good. Not with the sandals you have though!

Iamthewombat · 30/06/2020 14:09

I rather like it. With different shoes. The slight looseness and boxiness is elegant.

dontgobaconmyheart · 30/06/2020 14:12

That's not loose and wafty OP, just a fairly smart-casual structured dress that is too big on you and gives an unflattering shape. I think you're right to return it. You could do much better!

Beatrixpotterspencil · 30/06/2020 14:12

I like it, gorgeous style.
I’d prefer it a touch more nipped at waist ....but can it be pulled in?

It reminds me of a Japanese minimal sort of look which I’m fond of.
I wish I suited black!

puzzledpiece · 30/06/2020 14:43

Too big and shapeless on you
