Hit the 30s and hair won’t grow.

Anyone else found this?

My hair used to grow so, so quickly and I could attain long length easily (it was bum length when I met DH), I could have it cut short and if I didn’t like it know it would grow long again relatively quickly.

I cut it short again early in the year to a chin length bob, before lockdown so maybe feb/March time.
Hated it and it’s just not growing..

Well, it is, but mega slowly.
It’s just about hit slightly above shoulder length.

Is this another delight of aging I have to look forward to?

I wouldn't say it is. I'm 52 and last had my hair cut at the end of September. I'm now like Rapunzel. Not quite, it's grown 6 inches give or take a few snipped off ends since lockdown.

I think it’s genetic.
My hair will only grow to a certain length and then it just stops .

Get your iron & ferritin levels checked as anaemia can affect hair growth.

I take Perfectil Hair tablets which I find really good. My hair is getting thicker.

No this isnt normal at age 30.
Check the following:

thyroid function
iron levels
hormone levels
B vits
Zinc

If these are off your hair wont grow much and it will be weak and brittle. Try hairfinity vitamins, the results are incredible and it has thousands of great reviews. Do not take iron until you have been tested and shown to be deficient as too much iron can be toxic.

Thank you for the responses everyone.

I’ll try some multi vitamins and fingers crossed 🤞🏻
If not I’ll see the doctor and ask about some blood tests

Chin to almost shoulder length is fairly good growing in 4 months.
Take a picture now and look again in another 4 months to see the growth and don't cut it.

I'm early 30s and my hair growth has slowed down a little bit. Googled it and apparently it's normal:

"Age: Hair grows fastest between the ages of 15 and 30, before slowing down. Some follicles stop working altogether as people get older. This is why some people get thinner hair or go bald."

It could be age related sadly

This might sound alarming, but it could related to hair loss also. Essentially your hair growth cycle could be impacted, leaving it in a stagnant stage (telogen phase) where it stops growing, then later falls out. So your hair never gets past a certain length as it enters the telogen phase prematurely and rests before it falls out, instead of continuing to grow.

Chin to almost shoulder length is fairly good growing in 4 months.

Exactly what I thought. That must be at least two inches growth, and the average person's hair grows by half an inch a month. So at worst your hair is growing at an average rate, certainly not 'mega slowly'. Just stick with it and avoid getting it cut for as long as possible Smile

Yes, thats plenty of growth already..it would take 2 years for it go grow back to bum length.
Coconut oil and hair skin and nail vits.
