Im a bit slow on the uptake but realised everyone it tucking tshirts at work. But i am very self conscious about my spare tyre and feels it draws attention to it.
What should i be doing.

I have a bit of weight on ny stomach and it looks awful if I tuck it in so I don't!

Grasspigeons · 27/06/2020 20:41

See thats what i was feeling too. Perhaps i should not follow the trend.

You don’t have to follow every trend :) classic looks always bode well.

I would never dream of tucking my top in, trendy or not. I also don’t wear crop tops, jumpsuits, chunky boots, puffy sleeves etc, no matter how trendy they are. They don’t suit me and I don’t like them.

Grin i will aim for classic! I think i look more frumpy - its a tricky balance

I always either tuck my top in, or wear something that sits just on my waistband. I’m quite hippy, with a small waist, and flat stomach, so it balances me out.

My best friend has a tummy but tiny bum/very slim legs, and she looks much better with a looser top.

I think it totally depends on your shape and your style.

Scruffyoak · 27/06/2020 21:17

I totally agree you have to be comfortable.

purpleme12 · 27/06/2020 21:18

I don't care what the trend is I don't like the idea of tucking my top so I'm not going to
And I can't see it being flattering either. My tummy is my worst part of me

Google French Tuck made popular recently by Fran from Queer Eye. It might be a compromise

Grasspigeons · 27/06/2020 21:48

redbigbananafeet oooh. I might give that a go in the privacy of my own home.

Im not exactly thin but i tuck my tops in now. It just looks so dated otherwise

GemmeFatale · 29/06/2020 08:27

I have a couple of tops that aren’t cropped but finish around my waistline instead of at hip level. Visually you get the proportions of a tuck but without the bunching of material around my post partum bulk.

So a different cut might work for you too

Grasspigeons · 29/06/2020 08:28

@GemmeFatale thats a great idea!
