Do toning shampoo and conditioner have a cumulative effect?

Specifically Fudge Cool Brunette blue shampoo and conditioner. Haven't noticed any change after the first use... Apart from blue hands. Does the effect build up with multiple uses? Is it worth persevering? Thanks.

I do notice a build up with my purple shampoo but just stop using them for a while or stick to once a week.

What is it you are wanting it to do? How long did you leave it on for?

I'm wanting to reduce the red tones in my brunette hair to have a cooler more natural brunette colour. I used the shampoo and the conditioner and left each on for about 3 mins.
