Just the above really, what's the quality like? I've seen a couple of nice dresses but always weary of ordering online.

cheap crap

lardass88 · 27/06/2020 08:47

I have ordered T-shirt's and nightwear from there. It's a bit hit and miss, the material on some of the things is a bit odd ( I got a short pj set and it's like a shiny material) I always read the reviews as they are honest , and to order a size up from what you are. My daughter loves it tho and is always happy with her purchases

Placesrobe7099292 · 27/06/2020 08:51

Yeh I have, sizing is a bit off.... but it is ok, you get what you pay for. I liken it to primark, but online!

Placesrobe7099292 · 27/06/2020 08:52

I sized up and ordered the next size up as recommended by most who order there.... some of the stuff is massive though! I’ve not sent it back as I’ve read returns are poor, I’m just going to try and adapt with belts etc

VioletCharlotte · 27/06/2020 08:54

I ordered a dress from there and was really surprised with how nice it is! I think it's good for everyday stuff (similar quality to Primark). I think the sizes probably come up a bit small so size up (I'm a 12/14 so ordered a large).

The downside is the delivery takes ages.

CodenameVillanelle · 27/06/2020 08:54

I've bought similar Chinese made stuff from eBay and they ALL use fake photos so don't expect it to look like the photos. At least on eBay you can get a refund if the thing falls apart after one wear (has happened) or is 10 inches smaller than the size it should be (also happened)
I don't mind taking the risk on eBay and usually keep things - I've charity shopped a couple that haven't had anything wrong with them but just looked crap. I wouldn't buy from shein or rosegal or any of those though as they seem to have really long delivery times and huge issues with returns and refunds

TeacupDrama · 27/06/2020 08:54

Have ordered a few things for DD but not for myself, it's cheap disposable fashion which is fine when it will be outgrown in 6 months but I like clothes that last years

Deliqueen · 27/06/2020 09:08

We have. Good experience
overall. I was nervous but bit the bullet as my teens were desperate having grown in lockdown so we ordered 16 items and received them about 2 weeks later. We only sent back 5 items which was to do with fit. Look really carefully at the materials used and check the size chart for each item. It took us quite a few days to put together the order as we looked really carefully. It is all well made and my girls are very happy. The returns are registered but no refund yet but it only went back last week! I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and we will definitely use again(as long as we get the refund!)👍

Crap quality fabric and tiny cut.

If you’re very petite and love polyester, it’s for you

imsooverthisdrama · 27/06/2020 09:12

It is hit & miss , you pay for what you get so if you pay £8 for a dress it's not going to be amazing quality.
My advice order a couple of sizes / styles and you can return what you don't like .

Sparkletastic · 27/06/2020 09:17

My teen girls have - cheap crap that comes up small and doesn't last but they've had some pretty dresses in recent hauls.

somewheresorted · 27/06/2020 09:17

I ordered 2 dresses last year, so cheap that I wasn’t too concerned. One was so thin and badly cut that I had to bin it but the other was perfect and I get complimented on it often.

Mrsmchammer · 27/06/2020 09:24

I ordered a dress that was not cheap. Lovely quality jacquard... Weirdest sizing ever. The skirt could have made 3 more dresses and the bodice was child size. Gave it away to be made into something nicer.

I'd avoid.

Titsywoo · 27/06/2020 09:37

I've ordered quite a lot over lockdown and find it pretty good stuff actually. Similar to primark. I've got a couple of these dresses which are really comfy and a decent quality. I make sure I don't buy anything polyester based anyway as I hate it. DD loves Shein and has loads of tshirts. I buy size XL and I'm an 18 and it fits fine. DD buys medium and she is normally a 10 (she likes things a bit baggy though!).

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 27/06/2020 11:41

I buy loads from them, I'm plus size so its great to have the choice from their huge range. I always read the reviews for each item, zooming in on the pictures give an idea of-the fabric and there is usually a size guide giving measurements in cm and inches if you hover over the sizes. Most of my haul has been good, some excellent quality, one or two a bit flimsy cheap fabric but still nice the only downside is they do take 2 to 3 weeks to arrive. I recently bought lovely summer shorts and tops and am delighted with them.

AGoodYearfortheRoses · 27/06/2020 11:49

You get what you pay for, it’s dirt cheap so not the best quality but tbh it’s no worse than many high street stores who charge the same if not more - Primark, H&M etc. The sizing isn’t generous but that’s the same in a lot of cheaper places and yes I’ve had a few ‘don’t stand too near a naked flame’ items but also some decent cotton etc ones. The delivery does take a while but it’s all tracked and same with returns, it’s not quick but I’ve never had a problem with being refunded.

It wouldn’t be my first choice for quality clothes but tbh I’ve paid £50 for something from eg Hush which hasn’t been that much better 🤷🏻‍♀️

Housemusic · 27/06/2020 11:54

I ordered a dress a few weeks ago. I'm a size 14 so ordered XL. I bought the same style and size dresses last year and loved them. They weren't the best quality but good for the summer.
Fast forward to this year and quality is bad, XL would be a 10 - 12. I ended up giving the dress to a friend because it had taken 6 weeks to get to me, so couldn't be bothered to send back again.

Aginplease · 27/06/2020 12:04

Thanks everyone, I might give them a miss!

dontgobaconmyheart · 27/06/2020 12:52

They're a bit crap sadly and not that cheap really IMO considering. I did place an order a few months ago but that was knowing this and just wanting some cheaply stretchy strapless dresses for sitting in the garden- you know the sort of thing, where it's comfy and acceptable for your own garden or the beach but you wouldn't wear out of the house. I couldn't find what I wanted elsewhere, didn't want to pay £25 from ASOS and Primark was closed at the time. A friend does (did) a lot of fancy dress and she uses it for bits and pieces for that Grin

I do think Primark is slightly better quality. If anything checking our the photo reviews first put me off further because most of it seems to look even cheaper on real people than in the image.

Aginplease · 27/06/2020 20:21

Any suggestions where to get some nice summer dresses from, I think SHEIN is out now!

SuperDuperJezebel · 27/06/2020 22:38

I absolutely love it, I've ordered loads. I've had one or two things that have been a nope but mostly it's been great. Lots of my summer dresses are from there and I really like their shorts. I read all the reviews really careful and rarely get a dud.

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 28/06/2020 18:36

Why out? There are loads of us saying they are great, i just got a sunflower print sundress from them and its amazing quality and very pretty

Sooobooored · 28/06/2020 19:12

I bought stuff for teenage dd during lockdown as she had grown out of everything and tbf everything fitted and washes fine. I thought it was better quality than primark.

Sooobooored · 28/06/2020 19:14

They do a decent plus size range (dd is taller and bigger than me.)
