Simple SPF30 moisturiser discontinued. What alternative?

Gah! I've just discovered that Simple have discontinued their Kind to Skin moisture cream with SPF30.

I've read reviews of Simple's replacement SPF product, which are not very good at all - many reviewers say the new product leaves white flakey bits on the skin.

Can anyone recommend an alternative?Basically looking for a fairly inexpensive (certainly no more than £15, and that's pushing it. Ideally up to £10) face moisturiser with at least SPF30.

Fragrance/perfume free.

I'm not interested in claims to stop ageing/wrinkles etc, just a what-it-says-on-the-tin product.

Oh something easily available from Boots or Savers, or supermarkets.

I have been using this one and absolutely love it. No issues with piling or leaving a cast etc.

Ah that's interesting as that's the one that I've seen mostly negative reviews about pilling etc. I'm glad that you get on well with it, but I'm worried about spending money on something that will flake and look awful on me.

Oh no, Simple 30spf is my preferred everyday brand.
I'd be interested in alternative options too.
A lot of daily moisturiser seem to stop at 20spf

Nivea Q10 anti-wrinkle age spot day cream is SPF 30 and is great. I get hyper-pigmentation quite badly in the summer months and this does a great job at keeping it at bay.

Thank you @wonderpants - I like the sound of this one, and it's a very good price too. Is it a regular product that Aldi stocks, or a special buy? I have to admit that I haven't taken much notice of Aldi's beauty range before.

I was looking at the Nivea online as a possibility, @GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal. I've seen reviews where people comment on the pleasant smell. Is it overly perfumed, or just the smell of the product, if that makes sense?

I know @BruceAndNosh, it's so annoying! I had some Simple left from when I last bought it, probably last year, so I hadn't realised it had been discontinued until I started looking for it.

Another possibility I've seen is Cetaphil daily defence, which has an SPF of 50. It looks to be about £12.99 in Boots.

I'm tempted to have a look in Aldi first for their lacura one. At £3.49, it's not much of a risk if I dont like it!

The Aldi one looks good! I love their Q10 serum, magical stuff.

I use nip+fab post glycolic factor 30 but it’s smells like grapefruit, which I really like, so wouldn’t tick the fragrance free box. It’s also not cheap but I always stock up when it’s half price which brings it under a tenner.

Oh no I use the simple spf30 as well. Not keen on Aldi skin care, got a night cream donated by a neighbour once as she didn't get on with it and it smelt strong and made my skin feel tight.

Some of the Nivea creams have a rosy smell, but that one doesn't. Hadn't noticed a particularly smell from it, tbh, but I'm not very sensitive to that kind of thing.

Original Nivea Cream has a very distinctive smell, not unpleasant but quite strong. Does your recommendation smell like Traditional Nivea @GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal?
I used Cetaphil when I developed roseacea, so I'll look at that.

I use the Simple one linked above. It’s great. No issues at all.

I tried that Aldi one but it made my eyes sting! I ended up using it on my legs just to use it up! Still, as you say it's cheap as chips so you could give it a go.

I went to Aldi this morning and bought the cheap as chips LaCura one. As @LifeInAHamsterWheel says, I can always use it up on my legs if I dont get on with it.

Really disappointed with the new Simple SPF30 recommended above, so much so that I've written my first ever review on Ocado warning others! It leaves horrible white bits that roll up when you try to remove them, I ended up having to wash my face to remove it all! I loved the previous version and can't imagine why they've replaced it... Thanks GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal for the recommendation of the Nivea product, will try that instead :)

I've been using this one for years and love it - it feels like a normal moisturiser rather than a sun cream. Granted, its RRP is £30, but it's pretty much always on offer somewhere at half price or BOGOF.

I put a basic moisturiser underneath.

I'd use a proper for purpose SPF for skin, and just use simple moisturiser underneath.

Biore watery essence SPF 50+ is excellent

Body shop vitamin c which is spf 30 I think

I'd strongly recommend using a proper sunscreen over a "moisturizer with spf" as they typically contain poor filters.

I use altruist 30 and the 50 face fluid on my face for top level protection
