When you’re losing weight - buying clothes?

I’m currently losing weight, about a stone/one size so far with probably a stone to go.

My current clothes don’t look great - they still fit but loosely, and I can’t really face buying new stuff when I know I’m likely going to end up smaller in a few months.

What did others do in this situation?

I just put up with it when I was losing weight, tried tucking things in more often and wearing things that used to be a little snug. It was great fun shopping when I was down to my target weight! Sadly lockdown has seen me balloon up again so I need to get back into it. Best of luck!

I’ve just bought a bundle of trousers the next size down off eBay.
£8.50 with postage for 3 pairs which will do for a while.
T-shirts are cheap enough from Asda. It’s not like I’m going anywhere at the minute so don’t need to look wonderful. I am still wearing some too big stuff but I actually feel awful in it so need to just bag it up for charity I suppose. It’s not like I want to fit back into it!
Congratulations on your weight loss.

Charity shop.

I just personally put up with bigger clothes until I have to buy new, as I hate the thought of buying something I love and then it going to waste if I lose more. I do find it easier in winter though as jumpers ect can be a bit looser and can tuck baggy tops in, put a belt with bigger dresses, oversized cardigans etc.
I usually make do with some cheap Primark bits to go with things I can still make work in my wardrobe. And then when I'm at the weight I want I can buy new lovely things! Lol

I got some cheap jeans from Tesco so
I wasn't constantly pulling them up and made do with the tops I had.... charity shops would be more environmentally friendly. Well done on your weight loss!

Thanks all, think I might get a pair of cheap jeans and maybe a skirt to get me through. Haven’t been to any charity shops for ages but that’s a good call. My old denim skirt isn’t quite falling down but it’s a v unflattering sack on me now...

Primark. I found I couldn't get away with bottoms as much as tops as I didn't mind them being loose etc.

I think it depends how many sizes you are changing by in total. If you're down one and only one more to go I would wait. I'm down three and two more to go so am doing a little interim shop now
