Yellow gold jewellery making a come back?

I'm a recent convert to yellow gold jewellery, as I'm getting older I think it suits my (aged and weather beaten) skin colour better. And I like the bling Grin

What do people think? What's driving the trend? Will it last? Maybe it's not even a trend and I'm just imagining it all in my yellow gold bubble 😍

I don't know if it's making a comeback but my gold pieces are all yellow gold. However, that's because I like vintage and antique jewellery. To me gold is gold coloured 😊

I’m late 20s and recently engaged. I picked my own ring and chose yellow gold. I think it’s really timeless and classic and is absolutely making a comeback! I’m the only one of my friend circle with yellow gold though, they all wear white gold.

PurplePansy05 · 25/06/2020 21:13

I don't think it's ever gone out of fashion. It's timeless.

daisypond · 25/06/2020 21:15

Yes, it’s on the way back.

edgeware · 25/06/2020 21:16

It’s never gone out of style. Yellow gold is always the most popular.

JaceLancs · 25/06/2020 21:17

I have always preferred the warmth of yellow gold and it suits my colouring
Most of my jewellery is vintage and yellow gold - 18 carat if possible
I don’t mind old rose gold but that also seems warmer and less coppery than new rose gold

DramaAlpaca · 25/06/2020 21:19

I've always worn yellow gold as my wedding and engagement rings from 30 years ago are yellow gold. I'm glad it's coming back into fashion!

AriettyHomily · 25/06/2020 21:30

I've never liked it on me, I have some yellow gold pieces that are Indian gold ( grew up in ME) and they really don't suit me.

Nothing to do with fashion, I think with jewellery go with what you love.

KitMarlowesCodpieceOfThigh · 25/06/2020 21:35

I got engaged and married in the last five years and my rings are both yellow gold. I think it doesn't age - it's classic. The other two rings I wear all the time (from Etsy, quite recently) are also both yellow gold.

Beachlovingirl · 25/06/2020 23:02

I used to wear all silver, platinum or white gold but recently I love gold. For me it’s gold plated because of my budget but it’s just to glowy. I have some gold plated earrings from baujken and some textured drop gold plated earrings from Etsy. (Plus my beloved number necklace though this is my one item of actual gold)

Beachlovingirl · 25/06/2020 23:02

Erm thanks autocorrect.

The whole point of gold is that it is gold. I never did understand people's fondness for white gold. Or platinum, for that matter.

Hey ho, each to their own.

okiedokieme · 25/06/2020 23:22

All my jewellery is yellow gold. I'll be fashionable again

frugalkitty · 25/06/2020 23:49

I have a platinum wedding ring but only because I developed an allergy to my 18ct gold one. I like gold, and some stones look better set in it.

Paddyclova · 25/06/2020 23:51

It’s all down to personal preference and what you suit. I prefer white metal And look hellish with yellow gold against my skin, so I have platinum rings.

Paddyclova · 25/06/2020 23:54

morethananight in what way do you not understand it? How is it any different from preferring blonde/brunette, pink dress or orange dress etc? Confused

JollyGiraffe12 · 26/06/2020 10:29

It’s definitely making a comeback I’m more of a silver/white gold/rose gold girl normally but I have found myself drawn to yellow gold recently and bought a few gold plated bits for fun

Angel2702 · 26/06/2020 10:33

All my jewelry is yellow gold, anything else doesn’t suit me. I refused to follow a fashion Trend when choosing wedding rings etc and went with what suits me.

GreyishDays · 26/06/2020 10:33

I think it’s been back for a couple of years.
