Hi all

I'm a guy who is not into cross dressing and radically changing my appearance. But in this hot weather I would like nothing more than to wear a nice summer skirt or dress, nothing particularly fancy but something cool and comfortable to wear. Just wanted to get other people's views - is is a bit weird and if it is OK where can a go to buy? Thanks Adam x

Not weird - I'd recommend cotton and loose. No waistbands etc. It's too flipping hot.

You need a dishdasha, as worn throughout the Arab world. Technically, the chaps call it a robe.

Dhalandchips · 25/06/2020 15:31

But not white... Fatal!

pontiouspilates · 25/06/2020 15:36

I second the dish dash, practical and comfy. DH wears them around the house on days like this.

Wear what you want to wear. If women wearing trousers isn't weird then why should men wearing skirts?

ZaraW · 25/06/2020 15:42

Forgot to say watch the first video it's funny. Shows you how to tie it and turn it into a pair of shorts.

Crystalspider · 25/06/2020 15:46

If you don't want to look like a cross dresser don't do it, buy some shorts.

TheDuckSaysMoo · 25/06/2020 15:52

Sweaty thighs rubbing together is not pleasant so you may prefer shorts to skirts. I do. Give it a try though.

Wear a sarong a la David Beckham. I don't think theres any issue with it

KnitFastDieWarm · 25/06/2020 16:07

Well, my husband wears a kilt but i wouldn’t recommend that in this weather! that sort of shape suits most men, though. maybe a similar shape and length but in cotton or linen?

CushyButtercup · 25/06/2020 16:13

DH got himself a 'utility kilt' for walking. He reckons it's really comfy and I think he looks rather sexy in it.

Bundlemuffin · 25/06/2020 16:20

Sorry, no tips but I totally agree with you - it's loose sundresses all the way for me in this weather.

MandalaYogaTapestry · 25/06/2020 18:16

If you want to become a laughing stock go ahead, wear a sundress. You know it, why ask Mumsnet?
