Oil stain on dress

I spilt salad dressing on a cotton dress and stupidly put stain remover on it and put it in the washing machine. The stain isn't out - what should I do next?

Try rubbing neat fairy liquid in it and leaving it for a couple of hours. It dissolves the grease. I’ve only done this on items before washing though.
Just make sure you rinse it thoroughly before putting back in the machine or it will foam up!

There is a spray called elbow grease which I have found useful before the get grease stains out of clothes.
Just spray and rub and then spray again and put in wash, that's what worked for me.
