How many pairs of jeans do you own?

I just counted six, including some denim dungarees.

Too many? Tbh I am quite tempted by another pair or two.

One pair. From Gap.
But I live in a hot climate so they are not worn very often.

About 20. Mainly Levis. I buy them online when they have 20% off.

3 pairs. 2 black and 1 blue. Plus some cut-offs from an old pair of ripped jeans that I live in at the moment. I asked my DS22 how many he had (knowing he loves jeans!). I wish I hadn't. 40 pairs! Seriously. 40! He then started listing them from his really posh expensive ones to..... well I must admit my mind wandered when he got to about pair 10.

Mine are each slightly different, a bit like @Lockdownhairdontcare’s list. But there’s a gap on my list for a high-waist straight-leg full-length-not-cropped mid-denim-wash. And I am going to fill it with pair 7. This thread has given me cover.

Very impressed with any ownership numbers of 12+ pairs. Is that hoarding or ‘curation of a denim collection’?

3 - 1 indigo, 1 lighter blue, 1 white. I replace them as soon as they look scruffy. I have made a conscious effort these past few years to try different style trousers as I felt I lived in jeans before that. I probably wear jeans once a week now, less in high summer.

I just went up,to the wardrobe and counted. 15 pairs. All the same style from Uniqlo. Different colour denims (khaki, dark blue, pale blue, black, white) and two different lengths to wear with heels or flats.

It makes getting dressed so easy. 95% of days I just have to choose a top and then pull out the best colour match jeans. Depending on the top, shoes and makeup they do for everything from going to the supermarket to a dinner/theatre type night out. The other 5% of the time I have to wear something properly smart - normally a dress.

That makes me sound scruffy but I actually have a reputation for being well dressed!

Until lockdown - now I pull out a top and then select the best colour match of my 4 pairs of jogging bottoms. On hot days I mix it up and wear my lovely light fishermans pants bought back from Thailand.

Three, mostly wear two of them, and two pairs of denim Bermuda shorts for summer.

7, but that includes a couple of pairs bought 20 years ago...modern jeans don’t seem to last anything like as well.

I’m almost ashamed to say I have 50+ pairs that I’ve collected over the years. My teen DD has now claimed a lot of them and whilst I’m thrilled to see her wearing them I’m horrified that I used to wear them thinking I was fat - I couldn’t get them past my knees now and she looks fantastic in them

But then, I’m really bad with getting rid of denim, I think (proper denim) improves with age and even once they’re so faded and/or holey that they aren’t fit for public consumption then end up as house/stables jeans...so they’re with me till they literally fall apart

I also don’t really wear anything else on the bottom half apart from skirts and shorts - I’m 5ft nothing so chinos, palazzo pants and the like either drown me or make me look like I’ve strayed into a dressing up box of my moms clothes

Technically there’s also two pairs in the maternity clothes bag in case my sister or I get pregnant again but I’m not counting those.

None, I don't like jeans at all, especially those with rips in them. I just saw two women wearing jeans in the village today, they both had massive backsides, and big hips, and waddled along like ducks. they appeared to be quite sweaty in the 32 degrees heat.

None, I can't find any that fit me properly, if they do up around the front then you have storage for tennis balls at the back, and if they fit the back then I can't do up the zip.

I tend to buy things in multiple colours when I get a good fit. Jeans wise I have:

Whistles barrel leg in light blue, nav, and black
Whistles Hollie in mid blue
Levi’s 80s balloon leg in black, light blue, and mud blue
Levi’s cropped 501s x 2 in black, one in charcoal grey

I have a small waist and big hips, so find jeans tricky to get right.

Probably just over 10, but that includes a white pair I never wear and a couple of pairs that are too big.

Wouldn't be surprised if I had 30. 2 pairs in regular use for work and one I sometimes wear for casual.

Most of the rest I'm keeping in case I lose weight - unfortunately happening rather slower than I'd like. I probably have pairs that fit me at a size 14 but the current ones are a size 20. I should probably have a clear out.
