Platinum grey hair - what colour should my eyebrows be?

I’m growing out my grey and it’s mostly a silvery, white/platinum. I won’t dye or tattoo my brows because my skin is sensitive (which is why I’ve stopped colouring my hair). I have cool toned pale skin with green eyes. My eyebrows are a sparse mix of grey, white and a few darker brown hairs. What colour should my eyebrow make up be?

I’ve tried a few pencils in taupe but the colour looks wrong on me. I like the benefit products but have no idea what to buy. Please me help lovely MN beauty experts!

I would say to go as close to your original eyebrow colour as possible, but use a very light touch.

@SecondTimeCharm thank you, that makes sense. I think I’ll try the benefit medium brown in a cooler tone as my brows were originally a cool toned brunette colour.

It's taken me YEARS to find my holy grail brow products for my platinum grey hair.

99.9% of all pencils called "Taupe" will be too red/warm.

99.9% of all actual cool-toned pencils will be too dark (i.e. black).

These are my two favourites:

Benefit Precisely My Brow in Cool Grey

and

Etude House Brow Pencil in #02 Gray/Brown (You can buy this on eBay for a few quid - I get 5 at a time).

@QuentinQuarantino thank you so much for those recommendations! How dark is the cool grey benefit product?

The only decent, truly cool-toned eyebrow pencil I have ever had was from Japan, and it was a grey one. The brand was unfortunately written in Japanese. (I’m blonde, but it works for me. It’s nearly dead, and I save it for special occasions)

QuentinQuarantino · 23/06/2020 10:11

It's mid grey with just enough brown to prevent it looking too ashy.

The best thing about it is that the nib is so fine that you can be really light-handed and precise in applying it so can either use it sparingly or build it up for a stronger brow.

I use mid brown Clarins eye shadow on the grey eyebrow hair, that way it looks more natural, pain in the ass doing every time, but it works for me.

Silentplikebath · 23/06/2020 10:35

@DoorstoManuel thank you for your suggestion of using eyeshadow. Is the mid brown Clarins eyeshadow a very cool toned colour? Most browns are far too warm toned for me.

I would get benifit precisely my brow it's really good

Silentplikebath · 23/06/2020 11:03

@jsfans and @QuentinQuarantino is the benefit precisely my brow better than the goof proof pencil which is also available in grey?

Thanks for your help!

Sorry for the delay in replying, I went to have a look........

DS and DH nobbled me for a bacon sandwich, then I put the chicken wings on to marinade for tonight, then I made myself a smoothie, then I remembered.

It is going to be one of those days... Grin

The brown palette and the forest palette would do the trick for me.

I am Irish and so white my legs look like mozzarella.Grin

My hair was originally very dark brown.

Silentplikebath · 23/06/2020 12:35

@DoorstoManual thank you for your reply. I’ve also got mozzarella legs Smile

I’m so glad I started this thread as you’ve all been very helpful Star
