Ffern? Or another natural perfume.

Hi, I'm looking for a totally natural perfume as I find normal ones very cloying in my throat and I'm keen to cut down on chemicals.
I've come across Ffern and I'm wondering if it's worth the money? Did anyone get sucked in to buying and then regret it? It's alot of money but I'll pay if it's worth it. I can only find opinions from bloggers and I don't really trust them.
Alternatively does anyone have any alternative recommendations for a quality natural perfume. Thank you!

I love this perfume company www.londontown.com/LondonInformation/Shops/Farmacia_Santa_Maria_Novella/ca3f/

Or Pacifica solid perfume.

I just received my first order from Ffern, which is summer 2020. It is lovely. But more importantly, they have a great ethos for ingredients, communicated well about when it would arrive, and the inclusion of a biggish sample means I can return the bottle if I don't like it. Personally I'm going to stick with them!

Clettercletterthatsbetter · 01/07/2020 14:20

I signed up to Ffern and have had one bottle so far (summer 2020). It wasn’t for me (too citrusy) so I’ve returned it but will stick with them and see what autumn brings. I’ve decided if I don’t like the first three orders then I’ll cancel the subscription.

My other suggestion for natural perfume is L'Occitane. I love their Herbae, which is green, fruity and fresh, and is my current favourite daytime perfume. I also really like the verbena range for summer. For nighttime I have a lovely, sexy Jasmine and Bergamot L'Occitane scent that is a few years old, which I wear for date nights. I also have their rose spray perfume, which I find a bit underwhelming, though not unpleasant. I recommend checking them out. If you buy the perfumes online then you can often find a coupon code to get a gift box thrown in, which I am planning to give people as Xmas presents.

I signed up for the summer 2020 one. The perfume wasn't "me", but I could find that out from the sample that they included, and my money was recreditted quickly when I sent the full size back.

I am waiting to see what autumn 2020 will bring - the latest info suggests rose based, so I am hoping it will be good!

I've just seen an ad for Ffern on FB. It looks very interesting so I'm bumping this post for any more reviews.

PearsMorgan · 20/09/2020 07:32

Ffern is no risk because you can return if it does t suit you. I’ve returned two of the last three (summer was actually lovely but too close to spring so I wasn’t going to use both). Looking forward to autumn!

GlassOfPimms · 20/09/2020 07:57

Would also recommend Bath House perfume. I've got several and they're gorgeous www.thebathhouseshop.co.uk/fragrances/

I keep seeing ads for Ffern on FB too. Agree it looks interesting!

I've just signed up for the waiting list for Ffern. I'm not particularly interested in natural scents but I love the idea of the exclusivity of Ffern and the excitement of waiting for the new scent to arrive.

There are a few other brands you can try:
Hiram Green do fantastic naturals. My favourite is Dilettante - an orange blossom .
Mandy aftel - exquisite but very pricey & American.
Providence perfumes - I'm desperate to try the Oakmoss one but again American.
Abahna - I'm not sure whether they're fully natural but my daughter loves their Frangipani & Orange Blossom. Refills are also available.
I'm on the Ffern list too. I think I kept two out of the 4 perfumes last year. The Ffern summer 2019 was just lovely but I didn't enjoy the winter/autumn ones. I'm really not an oud lover and nearly all their perfumes seem to have this in. I guess to retain longevity as this is a particular issue with naturals. However Rose is one of my favourite notes, so I'm intrigued by the Autumn one coming up.

Ooh and I forgot Rogue Perfumery. An American brand but their perfumes can be ordered from European sites. Their Chypre Siam perfume is brilliant.

Ifonlyiweretaller · 20/09/2020 11:33

I tried Ffern last Summer and Autumn. To be honest I was disappointed as I thought the two were very similar scents. I dont know why i didnt use the little samples provided, as at least I could have sent them back.
The concept of the testers is great though. I just wasnt keen personally.

Has your Autumn scent arrived yet? What is it like?

Shoegal29 · 21/12/2020 08:57

I have just received the winter 21 perfume. Love the fact they put the original with a sample spray so if you don’t like the sample spray, send perfume back for refund. Too much orange citrus smell comes first. Along with a pine scent. I am returning mine back as it’s URghhhhhh.
Nice for the toilet to be fragranced but not a human .
This quarters perfumer is way off.

Shoegal29 · 21/12/2020 08:59

It’s my own fault. I was bought with the romance of the seasons and natural products.
I over romanticised the idea of the perfume and how it would smell wonderful.
It’s my own fault .

QualityFeet · 21/12/2020 14:40

I think this winter is a dud but have liked others. The returns are easy and I like the way it appears as an easy treat.

lookdeepintotheparka · 21/12/2020 16:07

I absolutely love Winter 21! The citrus is strong at the start but it's beautifully blended and the oak moss, vetiver dry down is really lovely.

This is my first Ffern fragrance and I'm impressed. I did wonder from what I've read whether the notes will end up feeling too similar through each season but I really like the fact they send the sample so you can try before you decide to keep the bottle.

QualityFeet · 21/12/2020 21:58

I wonder if having Covid has impacted in my sense of smell - I didn’t get much after the lemon at all. I left it for a few days and tried again and just couldn’t get any joy. I have loved the others I have had . I really like the box😂

Babysharkdoodoodood · 22/12/2020 02:01

It's my first ever Ffern and I have (figuratively) drowned myself in it. I adore it. A teeny citrus hint then heather and oakmoss. Lovely stuff.

lookdeepintotheparka · 22/12/2020 12:58

Hope your sense of smell returns soon @QualityFeet Sad

Glad you're enjoying the Winter 21 too @Babysharkdoodoodood
Xmas Smile

thinkofablinkingnamewoman · 22/12/2020 14:45

I've had autumn and winter and love both. Winter smells a bit like a sauna to me initially which I guess is the eucalyptus, but then I get citrus and pine which works for me.

QualityFeet · 22/12/2020 16:16

Thanks lookdeepintotheparka:)

EachandEveryone · 31/12/2020 22:25

Oh, ive just ordered mine. Does it last longer than jo malone as i really dont get on with them.

SnuffleTruffleBoarLadie · 29/06/2021 09:55

Hey everyone! I've just bought Summer 21 from ebay as I'm still on the waiting list, and I was wondering what everyone's thoughts are on the latest scents? I like Summer 21, I can smell the citrus, then the deep floral scents underpinned with a lot of spice. I end up with a waft of spice at the end, which my partner doesn't like as it reminds him of men's cologne - but I love spice haha, I think he'll get used to it :) I fell in love with my friend's Autumn 20 Ffern perfume, it's such a shame I'm not able to buy it!

Housewife2010 · 29/06/2021 10:34

Once you get onto the Ffern ledger, you can buy previous scents. They have limited stock.
