Where to buy an Airwrap?

I've decided to treat myself to an Airwrap after debating it for way too long. The only thing is that I can't try it out anywhere before purchasing. I've heard both good and bad things about it so I'd really like the option to have a go and be able to return it if I don't like it.

With that in mind, where is the best place to purchase from? So far, I've looked at QVC, Dyson, John Lewis and Boots. I'm probably being an idiot but I can't see for sure whether the returns policies for these allow for trying it out for a month or so, then returning it after having used it. Or whether they'll kick up a fuss if they can see it's been used.

I also think I'd ideally want the model with the long barrels - does anywhere actually offer this, or do you need to purchase the long barrels separately? I can see JL used to have this option (for the same price as the model with regular barrels) but it's out of stock, and I can't even see the option anywhere else.

Finally, if there are any sales, discounts or points offers that would be worth knowing out (I'm looking to buy within the next month) - please let me know! Although returns is still my top priority.

Thanks in advance :)

QVC have a 60 day money back guarantee, doesn't matter if it's used, they actually encourage you to use the items. They also let you pay for it over 3 months, if that helps.

QVC sometimes have them as today’s special value- saw it last week for £380 and regretting not buying it now!

Buy it direct from a Dyson. If you decide you don’t want it they will send a courier to pick it up form your home or office at no cost to you.

I did this when I first bought the Dyson dryer. I later regretted it and bought it again and kept it.

Be warned about the Airwrap -I have one and although it’s great the styles /curls/ waves don’t last long. I can do a beautiful blow dry for an evening out but it all drops by the following day. Fine if you wash your hair every day but otherwise I have had to accept that my gorgeous long Farrah Fawcett Majors curly layers are strictly temporary.

Thanks all! I thought I'd seen it cheaper on QVC at some point, I'll keep an eye out.

And thanks for the heads up @Quarantime - that's what I'm most worried about. I've heard such varied reviews from friends and online that I think I really just need to try it to see if it works on my hair.

I've got the long barrels but bought them separately from the Dyson website, I haven't seen them sold as part of the package but wonder if you messaged Dyson direct and asked?

MathsFiend · 21/06/2020 15:07

I got mine from Boots when they were doing a points event. £80 of points on a £400 spend.

nightlantern · 22/06/2020 17:47

Thanks so much everyone! I hadn’t even thought about Amazon for some reason.

I think I’ll wait and see if they go on offer at QVC again or if Boots do any kind of points deals. Emailing Dyson about the long barrels is a good shout too, I’m just reluctant to buy them for £30 each if it turns out you can get them included for free.

@nightlantern I had a quick look after your post, Boots are selling them with the longer barrels but they aren't in stock. Definitely worth having them if you have long/thick hair.

nightlantern · 22/06/2020 18:59

Thank you @UpToonGirl! Annoyingly Boots don't have email notifications for stock but I'll keep checking their website.

I've got the dryer which I absolutely love.

I managed to get the airwrap from QVC at that great price and I can use it for 60 days but tbh it's wrecking my hair Sad. The dryer is lovely. The straightening brush seems to be good for my hair, like the dryer, but the curling wands... They apply heat to the ends of your hair first and you can't do big chunks; it can only be very small amounts. I also agree with a PP that the curls don't last.

I really wanted to love it like I love the hairdryer but I don't. I'm sending it back in about a month. DD is also trying it and doesn't rate it. I still really want to love it, but I don't think I will.

nightlantern · 22/06/2020 23:09

Sorry to hear it's not working out for you @IloveJudgeJudy. At least you can send it back so you're not losing out on anything.

I've read amazing reviews from some and less than great reviews from others. Honestly it's gotten to the point now where I generally switch off if anyone else tries to talk me into/out of buying it. I really think I just need to try it for myself! As long as I can get it from somewhere like QVC where I have chance to use it first before committing completely. It's weird how some love it and some don't get on with it at all though, it's the marmite of the hair world.
