Spray in blonde colour?

Like everyone else, I now know what colour my hair is! I usually have it cut and bleached every 4 weeks and have missed 3/4 appointments. My roots look really dark!! The cut is a bit tragic as well, but I’m more bothered about the contrasting dark roots which look awful. Can anyone recommend a spray in lightener please? I daren’t use a box colour.

Chances are a lightener is going to look shite (orange) and wreck your hair in the process.
If it were me I’d use a box bleach and tone it. Sounds scarier than a spray in but you are ultimately in more control and therefore less likely to ruin your hair - as long as you do some research.

Don't use a spray in lightener, it will only be a very weak bleach and roots will go totally orange.

I think you can get spray on wash out root cover ups in blonde - I know loreal do one - but I have only ever used the dark ones and I think the blonde ones sometimes come out very ashy/grey looking?

L’Oréal has temporary (wash out) root sprays for dark hair to match to blonde lengths. It won’t turn super dark roots blonde, but a mid brown sort of shade.

Thanks. I did have an unfortunate incident many years ago when I tried to lighten it myself, in between hairdressers. I have an appointment in 3 weeks, I’m just so fed up of it looking awful (and greasy) I’ll give anything a whirl!

I’d say I’m a bit mousy but the contrast with super-light is very noticeable.

I’ve also used the John Frieda lightening spray and my roots are not orange at all, worked perfectly cost £4.66! I have been wondering if I should bother getting it bleached at the hairdressers at all.

I had highlights but I've gone back to the John Frieda spray. I actually prefer it.

Word of warning though - it does mean you then can't have highlights on top, the hair would just dissolve.

Try one of tinted dry shampoos?
