Omg.

I bought clothes in the sale. The materials were so shiny and bad and the random sizing. One size 12 was like sausage skin, one I could share with a sibling. Other ranged inbetween.

But the midi dress.
It was like a sack dress for a clown. I struggle to describe how bad.

Is there anything there to use the card on...?

I would be tempted to venture into the beauty hall. Lots of well-known makes there.

I went to M&S yesterday to have a look at the sale stuff - agree it was fairly dreadful! Ended up buying nothing and going to Primark next door instead.

I did like the beauty stuff (like nuxe, ten), food hall and home stuff.

I always have in the past.

I’m a big fan of their wine glasses, I’d spend it all on those! their skinny jeans looked nice the other day though admittedly I didn’t try on.

Skincare and fancy food?

Their sizing is so random that it's impossible to buy online. Haven't bought anything there irl for at least a year either - it's all pretty dreadful.

Towels / sheets / a vase / beauty stuff

Knickers.

Kitchenware is still good and I've seen good reviews of their Ivy jeans.

They also have a great beauty section. Get some L'Occitaine verbena shower gel, their shea butter hand cream or scented candles.

Knickers, pyjamas and food. I reckon you could get an awful lot of Percy pigs for the price of that dress

I spent mine on Nuxe in beauty. Love their summer perfume and their body lotion is gorgeous too. You could get their £20 gift set to try the range. But def avoid the bad fashion!

Of course you can buy food!

Have some Prosecco, smoked salmon, sourdough bread and fancy tomatoes. If you have any left, get some slinky nightwear, I love my autograph short grey silky dressing gown.

Neom diffusers are lovely

I use the gift cards to buy food - work lets me buy them at 5% off and then I use for groceries.

I get one at Christmas every year from work and I really struggle to spend it. Just used it at last on a couple of bras.

I got a lovely pure linen blouse and linen dress recently, plus an exercise top. Admittedly the dress is rather sack like but that’s what I wanted (for wandering round the house in)!

Like others have said M&S have a great beauty department. I got a Pure (their own brand) moisturiser recently and it’s amazing and smells lovely. I also second the suggestion to look at Nuxe - their perfume is my all time summer favourite.

Lingerie.

They do some lovely cushions. And the room scents are good.

Food and homewares are good, clothes are bad.

Basically anything except the clothes!
I have had a few gems from there this last year but did an online order recently and it was bad. Blazer looked nothing like the picture and hilariously they sent me an asymmetric flouncy dress in a horrendous pattern and fabric by mistake. Almost like a bad Stitch Fix
