Wearing sandals to work

Would you wear sandals to work in the upcoming heatwave? I’m going in the office a couple of days this week. I’m civil service and we have no dress code as long as nothing offensive.

Going to wear a light, loose Hobbs dress. Really can’t be wearing tights in the heat or squishing sweaty feet sans hosiery into shoes!

I have nice, smart sandals.

I would and did in a similar environment. They had to fit round the heel, I would have been sent home if I’d worn flip flops or mules on health and safety grounds (deemed a trip hazard).

Feet must look presentable, I always gave myself a pedicure.

It’s a new job so not entirely sure and many of the staff are military personnel. I had the “must have a strap around the ankle” rule in another public sector job.

I remember a post on AIBU where a women posted she wore sandals to an office in 30C heat and posters piled on saying it was unprofessional...

Wear sandals at work all the time in nice weather. Smart ones, not anything too casual (my choice, no dress code at work). Always have a nice pedi!

I wear these sort of sandals with a summer dress or skirt for work.

As a PP said you do need to make sure your feet are presentable though - clean, neat nails, dry heels scrubbed etc.

Sure if it fits your dress code why not? We aren't allowed open toes Sad

I have a number of pairs on a similar vein to *Romaine's". Definitely need to have a mini-Ped beforehand. Cracked heels make me Envy

When I used to work at TOPSHOP I would wear heeled sandals (similar to those pictured above) or Birkenstock’s

I work in a corporate finance environment now, wouldn’t wear the Birkenstock’s but I did wear heeled sandals last summer. My feet are well groomed, the sandals looked absolutely fine with a work suit or blazer & dress combo.
