Recommendation for volume for cropped hair?

Hi, I have cropped hair (currently home done grade 8) but I've realized it's gone really flat, while years back (pre-grey?) it had volume. I hate hair products which set solid once in. Can anyone recommend me something which will add a little volume but feel natural/normal? I'm reluctantly including a totally outing photo! Thanks

Volumising powder
Vo5 do a good one. Rub it in to the roots of dry almost styled hair and it will add loads of volume. It is a bit tacky but dry. But def adds volume and makes you look like there loads more hair there than there is
