Love those Cos trousers @Judystilldreamsofhorses
Overcast here but quite warm. Wearing new Monki trousers (not very exciting but so comfy).

@AnUnlikelyWorldofInvisibleShad I have just been diagnosed with Hashimoto's too. Just started taking levothyroxine two weeks ago. I think I have a long way to go as not feeling any benefit yet. I'm interested in flare up though - do you mean your thyroid function suddenly deteriorated or just that you notice symptoms at those times? I probably spend two weeks out of four feeling lousy then I have to admit I feel okay-ish for a week or two. Some days I seem to have normal energy levels but some days I'm so tired I have to lie in bed from 6pm onwards and my mood is just so flat.
Hope you don't mind me asking!

Pyjamas. I'm so pissed off today.

AnUnlikelyWorldofInvisibleShad · 30/06/2020 15:16

Hi @Ellapaella I dont mind you asking at all. When I have a flare up I can be fine and then get up one day and feel like I've been hit by a bus. I slept for about 10 hours last night but today I am absolutely exhausted. This particular flare up I have a sore throat, heavy head, heavy and achy limbs and nausea as well as the exhaustion. They are my pretty standard flare up symptoms.
Other times I get joint pains like it will hurt to bend my knees or move my arms. Sometimes I bruise more easily and occasionally I notice an increase in hair loss. My appetite nose dives. My brain can go all fuzzy and I just can't think straight. People will talk to me and I will just gaze at them blankly because I cant process what they have said. And sometimes I get incredibly dizzy and weak and shake and have to eat immediately. I think its like a blood sugar crash. I have to eat some chocolate and then cram in as much food as I can in order to stop the shaking and feel better.
I dont get all these symptoms at once but I pretty much always have the first five or six up to and including the joint pains. I havent managed to figure out what triggers the flare ups yet unfortunately.

Sooverthemill · 30/06/2020 16:06

@anunlikely that's sounds so much like my DDs faker ups of her very severe ME although she is always bed bound and in a dark room at times it's so much worse and she can't even speak. Today she can't bend her legs they are so stiff and swollen. We think ME is an autoimmune disease too and she also has POTs and EDS. Autoimmune illnesses are so hard to manage . I hope you feel better soon

Ellapaella · 30/06/2020 16:46

@AnUnlikelyWorldofInvisibleShad gosh it all sounds so familiar! I know exactly what you mean..
I get shoulder and neck pain, headaches, brain fog, nausea, stomach upset, lethargy and just a feeling of utter inertia. Like you not all at once but these symptoms have become so common place over the last two or three years it's almost become my normal and I've got used to feeling like it. I had my thyroid function checked routinely and had a massively raised TSH and my antibodies were through the roof.
I hope you feel better soon Thanks
How often do you have to have your dose adjusted?

Jumper: Topshop. It's got pointelle detailing on it but you can't see it in the photo, unfortunately.
Trousers: Lucy & Yak
Belt: Joy The Store
Necklace: another thing inherited from my DGM (meant to be amber; is clearly resin)

Hello! I had an 8am meeting, and don’t seem to have stopped all day (plus I had to take my car for an MOT and DS went back to school for the afternoon). So I’m only getting around to posting now. Nothing exciting about my outfit - but it’s comfortable and about the right thickness for the undecided weather.

Top: Primark
Jeans: Boden
Trainers: Jigsaw

@Ellapaella Yes unfortunately I'm familiar with all those symptoms. I was diagnosed about 3.5 years ago after my son was born and then got unwell again after having my daughter. About 8 months or so ago I went for a retest and managed to persuade my doctor to increase my tablets. I was due a retest just before lockdown for that but i really think my dosage needs increasing again. Im only on 75mcg and everything I've read suggests thats really a starting dose and most people need to be on a higher dose than that. My doctor is concerned I will become hyper if my dosage is upped but im hopeful I'll be able to convince him to increase to 100.

I'm sorry to hear about your daughter @Sooverthemill It must be such a challenge for her having 3 disorders. I do hope she manages to find ways to cope. My mum has several autoimmune diseases and suffers severely from them. Its so hard to watch and know you can't do anything to help. Mine is different in that there is actually a medication for it but it is still so hard to handle at times.

Ellapaella · 30/06/2020 18:08

@AnUnlikelyWorldofInvisibleShad interestingly I feel a lot of my 'mystery' symptoms started after the birth of my third son (5 years ago). I started to suspect possible autoimmune but GP kept saying peri menopause (I'm only 41 now and this was 5 years ago).
Back then I would get a lot of tingling in my feet and started having really bad cubital tunnel syndrome, dry eyes and then after that just one thing after another. Headaches got worse and worse and I totally relate to the feeling of brain fog and being spaced out.
Running and regular exercise definitely helps (I always feel worse when I stop exercising) and I think my worst symptoms seem to be related to my cycle.
I'm only on 25mcg as I also have a congenital heart problem so they started me on as low a dose as possible, I think it's going to be a long time before I get my dose up to the right amount!

AnUnlikelyWorldofInvisibleShad · 30/06/2020 18:32

@Ellapaella I hope you manage to get your dosage set at the right amount before too long and see some difference. My first symptom was ridiculously weak legs. I would be scared I was going to collapse when I was walking around and particularly going upstairs as they felt so weak.

Wildernesstips · 30/06/2020 19:13

Hope it’s OK to join in, although I think I wear a lot of repeats. Today I have trousers from Joules and hand-made top.

I wear repeats a lot, Wildernesstips!

I think we have the same Fitbit, also Smile

toastfiend · 30/06/2020 19:35

@AnUnlikelyWorldofInvisibleShad I'm 5'6 and a 10-12 (more a 12, especially post-lockdown!) and this is a medium, but very big on me - I like them oversized, though. I always roll the legs up on it, but unrolled they're a pretty standard length on me (I generally wear 32" leg in jeans). I think you should be ok with an XS in one if you wanted it more fitted, or a small if you wanted it very oversized like mine. Smile Love your dinosaur dungarees! 🦕

Sickoffamilydrama · 30/06/2020 20:00

Welcome @Wildernesstips
Thanks for posting, I also post lots of repeats - I love this thread for making me think how I can wear the same outfit slightly differently each time.

OP posts:
AnUnlikelyWorldofInvisibleShad · 30/06/2020 20:51

@toastfiend Thanks. In that case i think I'd try xs. I dont love any currently for sale but I'll keep my eye out for any new arrivals.

artyandtarty · 30/06/2020 20:51

I'm wearing Spanx leggings with a casual T-shirt.... I've bought 2 pairs of these Spanx leggings recently & I love love love them !!! Will post a pic soon : )

Wildernesstips · 30/06/2020 21:40

@Sickoffamilydrama I adore the yellow dress. I am hoping this thread will give me inspiration but also some perspective on what I currently wear.

happytobemrsg · 30/06/2020 21:47

I pretty much wear the same things daily too - dungarees or baggy high waisted trousers. I don’t mind though - it’s taken me so long to figure out what style I like & now I’ve found it ie joy getting dressed every day, even if each day is a slight variation of the last 😂

OublietteBravo · 30/06/2020 22:17

I not only post lots of repeats - sometimes I do it deliberately. At the beginning of the year I did a stint where I picked a garment and built a whole week of outfits around it. Perhaps I should do it again - it might take my mind of the tedium of WFH every single day.

Sickoffamilydrama · 30/06/2020 22:45

Thanks @Ellapaella & @Wildernesstips this thread has made me think more about what I wear and not slob around to much which I probably good for my mental health.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 30/06/2020 23:27

At the beginning of lockdown I made a decision that I would not repeat any entire outfit - like a wee project. I have worn items multiple times, but not in the same combination. It’s made me dig for things that I don’t wear much, but has also helped me weed out stuff to list on eBay and bag up for charity, because I have realised why I don’t wear things.
