Stop shaving. Get a lumea or similar and get rid of it for once and for all!

TimeforTea20 · 18/06/2020 17:50

Use an antibacterial soap or cream after shaving. I use Dettol soap, I also reduced the amount I shave, as shaving every day or second day irritates the skin further.

I also use a cheap boots moisturising foundation, on my bits, if I'm going to have sex to cover any redness or marks. It makes it looks a lot nicer and me feel more confident. You can get away with it as long as your not wearing white knickers.

TimeforTea20 · 18/06/2020 17:51

You're apologies

DiddlySquatty · 18/06/2020 17:57

OMG- fanny foundation, anal bleaching, lipstick for the lips- I've heard it all now Grin

I agree, just get rid if it permanently. I have a braun silk expert one.

There is an Aussie brand called 'Nads' who do a good ingrown hair liquid.

Grendel90 · 18/06/2020 20:16

@summerrain34 I don’t think you can use Veet but I recently bought this because I have the same problem:

woowoo.fun/collections/all-products/products/woo-woo-tame-it

I’ve not used it yet because I haven’t had time but it might be worth a try

BitOfFun · 18/06/2020 20:22

Tendskin is miraculous stuff for redness and razor bumps. It helps with ingrown hairs too.

Chickoletta · 18/06/2020 20:23

Foof foundation...?!?!? Shock

Hippofrog · 18/06/2020 20:27

This thread has got me thinking of the song from The Lorax:
Let it grow
Let it grow
Like it did so long ago!
It is just one tiny seed
But it's all we really need
It's time to change the life we lead
Time to let it grow!

HowFastIsTooFast · 18/06/2020 20:34

You can definitely get bikini line hair removal cream like Veet, it's just a gentler formula than for legs/pits.

BlackSwan · 18/06/2020 22:28

Foundation? This thread took I turn I didn’t expect. It’s just wrong.

Ginandbearit1 · 18/06/2020 22:57

I read a tip before to use exfoliating scrub in the bath between shaves so you stop in growing hairs. Also only shave after being in the bath a few minutes to soften the skin. I use shaving gel which seems to help, I tried an epilator that was pretty good.

runningon · 18/06/2020 23:02

I echo Lumea - it's expensive, but it works and the best thing is having smooth skin on legs and bikini line etc.

StarlightLady · 19/06/2020 04:11

I whip it all off. With regard to anyone suggesting letting it grow, this is not what the OP has asked. We don’t all want to do this, particularly in the warmer weather.

Lumea, may be good (l’ve only read about it) but it is costly.

You can try Veet Sensitive, it works for me. Do the spot test first though. I find it works best using a razor as opposed to the plastic thingy provided. It’s part of my Saturday morning routine. I then “top up” with a razor as part of my morning shower routine. For me, the body get used to it; no razor bumps and it leaves you very smooth. You may want to let the bumps settle first though.

Razor: Bumps are often caused by a blunt blade. A sharp blade is a must. Nothing, half blunt. Try the 3 bladed Raspberry Venus. In my opinion far superior to anything else I have tried.

Avoid shaving creams or shower gels, use a good quality hair conditioner, the razor then glides. Then wash off with simple soap.

My sister uses an electric Bikini Perfect with a foil head. It doesn’t leave you quite as smooth but can be a positive option.

Sod that.

WhoWouldHaveThoughtThat · 19/06/2020 06:54

Have you tried one of these?

Glitterb · 19/06/2020 11:50

You can buy ingrown hair solution from Lycon which is brilliant!

But consider a Lumea, yes they are expensive but you can often find them on offer but they completely get rid of the problem!

Also....fanny foundation? 😹😹

sittingonacornflake · 19/06/2020 11:57

I'm going to regret asking this I'm sure but - foof foundation - wouldn't it just rub off on your partner / sheets?!
