Blue or black denim jacket?

Bit of a stressful day ahead so I'm focussing on the trivial...

I love the blue and black and I can't decide which to get! Can't possibly justify both (Can I?)

I wear a lot of black already (black doc martens, vans, jeans, skirts, Lucy and Yak dungas...although sometimes I go very feminine and floral depending on my mood) and worry if a black jacket would be overkill? What would you wear with a black jacket - more black, or try to liven the rest of the outfit up?

Get the black as you do like black. It's a nice jacket.

I love a blue denim jacket but never get a lot of wear out of it as I wear jeans a lot and don't like the double denim look. Black would be more versatile I think

I like both, but personally I would go for the blue. If you wear a lot of black it will stand out a bit more

Somehow I think you can get away with the black/blue denim combo or even the black/black denim combo more. blue Denim/blue denim has a bit of the 'Texas tuxedo' about it [grin}

Blue. It's a classic and that is a particularly nice shade of blue. It will contrast nicely with all black that's already in your wardrobe.

I always find black denim much stiffer than blue and it doesn't age as well as blue denim when it fades.

I'm of the opinion that double denim is okay as long as the shades of denim are different.

Good point though about the stiffer fabric @MoltonSilver , I often find that black denims fit slightly smaller too. I read something recently about how black dye affects fabrics differently and can make them shrink.

I've got black, pale grey and crisp white. I think blue is either dated or exceptionally trendy. Too tricky for me to style.
