Hate jeans ,too fat for a knee length dress with out leggings ,hate leggings
So ..
Is it to much to wear a maxi dress every day through the summer ?
This one is from joe browns and is strapless ,so bare shoulders ..
I’ve bought 3 ,because I never find something I’m comfy in ,in the summer .
I’ve come down in it and dh is all over me like a rash ,saying I look like I’m of out for the day somewhere ...so I think it’s to much and I should send them back ..
Also what do u wear on your shoulders if it gets cold

Do you have a link to the dress?

I think one is fine but if three mean you only have strapless dresses for all of summer it could be very limiting.

New look have some lovely maxi dresses.

In the warm weather l live in sleeveless dresses for day to day wear. I’m wearing one from from Joe Browns now.

If it is likely to get cold, l take s cardy with me. I’ve also worn a coat with a sleeveless dress.

Wear your maxis! I love a maxi, especially the jersey ones as they're comfy. What I like about a maxi is they always look as if youve made a bit of effort whilst being easy to wear in my humble opinion.

Lockdownhairdontcare · 17/06/2020 14:33

To be clear I live in maxis, I just like some with straps, short sleeves long sleeves etc

Keep them. If he means you look really dressed up, then isn't that a good thing? Don't you want to look nice? I wore a maxi dress to work for the first time last year, and the other ladies complemented me on it. It's nice to look nice, so go for it!!!

Ooh, forgot to add, a thin cardi or a denim jacket if it gets cold xx

Toilenstripes · 17/06/2020 15:15

I’ve got a couple of new summer dresses, maxi, as well. Definitely keep a cardigan close by. It’s so much nicer to wear a casual dress than leggings.

cosmo30 · 17/06/2020 15:16

Have you had a look for some nice jumpsuits?

Mintjulia · 17/06/2020 15:23

I live in dresses in the summer. Quick, easy, cool, no faffing about matching things up. And if they are sleeveless, just throw a jacket or sweater around your shoulders.

You dp should be pleased you look good, not trying to make you dress down.

Undies1990 · 17/06/2020 15:31

Oh, summer dresses are for all day, every day! Keep them, I bet you look great.

Your DH doesn't sound very nice. Ignore him.

Pugsrus · 17/06/2020 15:37

He meant it nicely, but I thought perhaps it was to much for everyday wear ..
I don’t know ,I’ve lived in jeans my whole life ,and suddenly, just can’t wear anything restricted,or that makes me hot

The dress has elastic over the boobs and back to keep it in place with what looks like a necklace to hold it up ,but no sleeves or shoulders

It’s pouring down ,and I’m not the slightest bit cold bizarrely

I have a denim jacket ..
I miss being 20 and not giving a dam how I look
Now it’s either ,I’m to fat ,or to old and I worry about looking like I’m trying to hard

I know that feeling too well! I have (almost) learned to love my body as it is. I like the retro style as it's feminine but not too "young". One of my favorite go to shops is Mondo Kaos - they are located in Denmark, but they have a great online store www.mondokaos.dk - If you look at their instagram profile, they shows lots of mature women in their clothing.
