Should I perm/ lift (whatever it is) my eyelashes ?

I am a low maintenance person really but I had a sudden return to a formal work environment and needed polish. That led to Style and Beauty and dermatica and Eborium and Estée Lauder dw light. I look brighter and swishier (this is all relative) and now weirdly in lock down I feel like I have gone to the next level. I ordered brow and eyelash tint - I fear this could go very wrong but should I fully commit and do the eye lash perm thing too?

If so has anyone got a recommendation? I have never had them done before (even been in a salon) But what’s the worst that could happen? Don’t answer that part.

Getting my eyelashes lifted and tinted is one thing I really miss right now, and I’m a fairly low maintenance person when it comes to beauty stuff, but I’d never try and do it on myself. I don’t know how you could as your eyes need to be closed

I can always enlist a child or husband - I will update you if anyone persuaded me to do the curling bit😂

I can see it could be worth doing after all mascara is good

Someone on another thread about eyelash dyeing suggested one eye at a time. I don't know if that would be possible for lifting?

I do love eyebrow tinting and lash lift. It juts gives me a little pep up- and I'm not someone who does make up at all

I got a lash lift kit on eBay and even I didn't cock it up! The glue in the kits is shit though so stock up on eyelash glue. I tinted straight after and have amazing Bambi lashes

After seeing a recommendation here, last year I had my lashes lifted at Karen Betts in London. It was very effective and I loved the look but it was about £90 and lasted around 7 weeks.

My lashes are dark and a reasonable length but so straight and stiff that no amount of using those metal curler things will bend them for more than a few minutes.

Id like to know recommendations for home lash lift kits too! I happily tint my own eyebrows and lashes. Top lashes first (apply using an old mascara wand), wipe off in a downwards motion with damp pads repeatedly, then do lower lashes after. Quick n easy!

Ploppymoodypants · 15/06/2020 07:50

I did mine. And I am very casual and don't all wear lots of make up or get my nails done or anything.
But it was £30 lasted about 7 weeks and make a big difference. It’s something I will try and do. I’m in my forties and my lashes are becoming short and stubby (prob nearing peri menopause) and it really did help open my eyes up. With some mascara they looked as good as in my twenties.

Which kit did you use Ploppy?

BuffaloCauliflower · 15/06/2020 14:06

@Westfacing after the apocalypse look for an at home beautician. My lovely lady comes to me for lash lift and tint and it’s only £40, even in expensive Surrey

Wobblysausage · 15/06/2020 14:09

Get a Diablo lash lift kit. I did and my eyelashes look fab and it was really easy to do. It’s costs about £30 but you get about 8 goes in it

Westfacing · 15/06/2020 14:11

Oh, thank you Buffalo - I hadn't thought of that! I shall investigate.

Would your lady's patch stretch to SW London I wonder?

Westfacing · 15/06/2020 14:13

Thank you Wobbly - I'd seen Diablo when googling.

BuffaloCauliflower · 15/06/2020 18:25

@Westfacing yes it probably would. We’re just over the border from SW London and I’m pretty sure she has clients in Richmond area? PM me and I’ll give you her details. She does lots of other beauty things too but Iow maintenance!

BuffaloCauliflower · 15/06/2020 18:25

But I’m low maintenance*

Westfacing · 15/06/2020 18:37

Will do Buffalo

QualityFeet · 15/06/2020 22:49

Well the brow tint arrived and I tested then dyed and well, isn’t dark brown dark brown! It certainly works and with a bit of required fade I am impressed.
