Cosmetic dentist recommendations - North West

Hi ladies... I’m thinking about getting veneers and would love some recommendations for a dental clinic in the North West, in particular, Bolton/Wigan/Warrington/Salford areas.

My teeth are nice and straight but a few little chips beginning to appear and I’d like a whiter, for ‘uniform’ smile!

Has anyone had them done and if so, did they make your teeth more sensitive afterwards? Are you happy with the results and how much did you pay for say, 16/18 veneers?

TIA 😁

Ps. If anyone has had composite bonding rather than veneers I’d love to hear about those too! Thanks x

Have a look at Monik Vasant at Fresh Dental, Bolton. Extremely talented clinician and all round great guy. He's pretty active on Instagram to get an idea of his work.

In all honesty I wouldn't go for veneers if your teeth are nice and straight and sound. Filing down healthy teeth not good. 18 teeth would be very expensive and you have to think about having the money to replace in a few years.

I was pushed into getting mine by a former dentist and I regret getting them and i only have four

I have had composite bonding on 3 upper teeth and 1 crown replaced....I am based in Leeds so might be a bit far away. £99 per tooth for bonding and approx £300 for crown.

Thanks so much, your teeth look great

Hi, I know what veneers are but what is composit bonding?

Your teeth look great and it sounds cheap compared to veneers.

Monkeytapper · 17/06/2020 11:21

@superstar63.....less abrasive than veneers, it’s a thin layer over your normal tooth, evens it out, makes it look brighter and better shape, teeth underneath are not affected so no filing down your teeth. Lasts 3-10 years depending how you look after them, but for the price I wouldn’t be bothered replacing after 3 years.

Monkeytapper · 17/06/2020 11:21

I mean I won’t mind paying to paying again after 3 years

Monkeytapper · 17/06/2020 11:21

Paying again!!!

cathyandclare · 17/06/2020 11:28

I had the same done ( well 6 teeth) about 8 years' ago and they're great but planning a redo some time and my dentist has moved.

superstar63 · 17/06/2020 11:40

Monkeytapper - Thank you, it sounds good to me and better than veneers.

I am heading for 70 so they may see me out lol.

I will look into it once dentists have got over the rush back to work but I hate dentists at the best of times!

cathyandclare · 17/06/2020 11:47

My mum had them done at 82 and they look amazing. She had some enamel thinning but otherwise a lovely smile. She's thrilled!

Dontsayyouloveme · 17/06/2020 12:52

Thanks everyone who has posted. Will check out the Bolton recommendation and the Leeds one as £99 per tooth is really good value and your teeth look fabulous! I’ve decided to definitely to go for composite bonding over veneers having done more research! I may book in for a zoom smile makeover consultation to get an idea of cost, until dental clinics reopen!!

So excited 😁😬

I'm in the north west and planning on getting some composite veneers. Church Road dental in cheadle hulme is one that has been recommended to me but haven't got as far as properly researching yet (doesn't seem like much point until I've got some more cash!)

Dontsayyouloveme · 17/06/2020 19:19

anxietrist Oh that one came up on my search actually! Not massively convent but I’d rather travel on a recommendation. I’ll take another look at it now.
