Dupe for Pixi Rose Tonic?

ClattyPat · 14/06/2020 18:04

I had a wee bottle of the Rose Tonic and loved it but would prefer not to spend as much on replacing it. Is there something similar out there that's cheaper?

Any help much appreciated!

Watch out for Aldi, I bought a dupe for a couple of quid when they were running a beauty event. The bottle and label look almost identical too.

ClattyPat · 14/06/2020 18:24

Thanks for the tip. I was hoping to buy something online if there are any other suggestions?

No but they do have some coming in on June 18th if you have one near you?

WrinklesShminkles · 14/06/2020 20:51

I haven't tried the Pixi one but I also like the Garnier one.

ClattyPat · 14/06/2020 21:12

I usually avoid Garnier as I have had reactions in the past but I'll give it a go at that price! Thank you!

I’ve also had allergic reactions to Garnier in the past but this one has been fine with it being for sensitive skin. I actually had really bad reactions to all the Pixi ranges which I was upset about as I’d heard such good things.

lancashirebornandbred · 15/06/2020 07:57

Boots do their own brand Glycerine and Rosewater which is very gentle. And cheap.

ClattyPat · 15/06/2020 12:20

Thanks so much for the help. I'll try both of those as even together they're much cheaper than Pixi.

I’ve used the boots one too. It all depends on your skin type. If it’s dry I’d say the Boots one is better but it made my combination skin too greasy. If you’ve combination to oily skin or skin that’s sensitive the garnier might be better. As you say both are cheap thankfully!

I got one from Amazon that I really liked OP, search for Nature’s Aid Triple Strength Rose Water

PearlieQueen · 15/06/2020 16:01

You can pre-order the Aldi one for delivery

ClattyPat · 15/06/2020 17:21

I didn't know you could order from Aldi! Thanks so much for all the help.

Check the ingredients on the 'dupe' products, the Pixi tonic is a mild acid toner that exfoliates using glycolic acid. A generic rose water or rose and glycerin toner won't have an acid ingredient and won't do the same job at all.

The Aldi one does contain an acid but it's hyaluronic acid not glycolic so good carefully until you know your skin will react to it OK.

Buggedandconfused · 15/06/2020 20:38

I bought Revolution Rose toner, it’s the same as the Pixi one!

kingkuta · 15/06/2020 20:45

There is no comparison between the Pixi tonic and the garnier/Boots one. One is a glycolic acid toner and the others are basically water, hence the difference in price. The Aldi one is a glycolic toner so amazing bargain if you can get hold of one

littleredsky · 15/06/2020 20:52

I love this one from Superdrug, I rate most of their skincare products but their glycolic toner and the vitamin E hot cloth cleanser are amazing.

WrinklesShminkles · 15/06/2020 21:25

The OP is asking about a dupe for the Pixi Rose Tonic, not the Glow Tonic. The Rose Tonic is not an acid toner.

NameChange84 · 15/06/2020 21:54

Exactly @Wrinkles

I’ve had all the Pixi Tonics. The Rose one is just a calming toner with no active ingredient like Glycolic or Hyalauronic acid hence my suggestion of the Garnier one. I honestly didn’t rate the Pixi Rose Tonic as anything special for the price.

Dinocan · 15/06/2020 21:59

Thanks I had no idea you could pre order the tonics on Aldi. I always miss them. The rose tonic Aldi dupe is great. Use it every day, I’ve just run out.

ClattyPat · 15/06/2020 22:27

I tried the Garnier one suggested above and no reaction as yet, and so thanks for that suggestion.

The Pixi Rose tonic was a lovely addition to my skincare but not essential if you know what I mean (especially at that price). I had a gift pack of the three tonics but the glow one nipped and I already have retinol in one of my night creams.

I love the rose glow tonic and alternate it with the glow one so would also welcome any recommendations for a dupe. A long way of saying shamelessly following I suppose!

Buggedandconfused · 16/06/2020 00:03

I’ve used the Pixi rose one and liked it, couldn’t afford it so bought this and it’s a dupe. I really like it as much as the Pixi.

I like Revolution skincare, was impressed by the
Niacimide and zinc so would be happy to try the toners. I've managed to pre order the Aldi glycolic and Rose hyaluronic though so will see what those are like. Ordered a wonder glow primer dupe as well (and 6 bottles of wine Smile) so cant wait to get my little bargain haul.
