What do you do with...

...damp dirty flannels if you’re using a clean one for your face every day? I don’t want to put them in the ordinary laundry basket because they’re wet. Do you just leave the dirty ones to dry in the bathroom and then put them in the laundry? Or put them straight in the washing machine and do them with whatever the next load is? I feel as if there is an obvious answer but I can’t think what it is.

I put them in a covered plastic laundry pail in the the bathroom and wash them with the bedding, which is also white, once a week.

I don't put them in the dry laundry basket as it seed put mould spots on your fabrics.

CatBatCat · 14/06/2020 09:56

Hang them over the shower rail

jokolo · 14/06/2020 09:56

not sure what the word seed is doing there - I thought I had typed 'can' Confused

Fingerbobs · 14/06/2020 10:23

Thank you, I was thinking about a separate pail for them (don’t have a shower rail I can easily reach)

I put them straight in the washing machine.

I do a load of washing pretty well every day so I just leave them on the side of the bath and then pick them up when I empty the laundry basket (also in the bathroom) or take the towels for washing.

janet1267 · 14/06/2020 11:10

I hang them on the towel rail to dry, then when they're dry I put them in the washing basket. I then wash them all once a week.

beautifulmonument · 14/06/2020 11:15

Unless I've got a wash going on imminently I hang them to dry in the bathroom before chucking them in the washing basket.
No need for a fresh one every time if you're only using it to wash your face though surely?

Edwardette · 14/06/2020 12:56

I launder everyday otherwise it piles up quick.

JemIsMyNameNooneElseIsTheSame · 14/06/2020 12:59

I use a clean one everyday and dry them in the airing cupboard before sticking them in the laundry basket, if not they go mouldy and rank.

ExpletiveDelighted · 14/06/2020 13:15

It's easier having a new one every time than trying to remember who's is who's, we all use them.

Everley · 14/06/2020 13:47

I don’t use a new one every day, maybe every 3 days. When it’s damp I leave it on the side of the bath then put it into the laundry basket the next morning when it’s dry.

chatwoo · 14/06/2020 13:50

Toss mine into the laundry sink and wash with similar items at end of the week.

vaz119 · 14/06/2020 15:27

I chuck them in the machine... We do a wash pretty much every day of gym gear... Can't really get left!
